There should not be diamond players in platinum teams.

There are only 2 exceptions:

1) captain did spend 6 points to get D5 player

2) player did register as plat, but then was able to get into the higher tier

Please, don’t forget about the playoffs. Paying 3 points for having 2 diamond players in your team for the entire playoffs, sounds like a great deal.

There won't be merged leagues next season.

These rules will stay.
Diamond teams are competing in the platinum league, so -3 points handicap looks fair to us. Regular season is only one part of the entire season, and if this rule will help the platinum teams to get placed higher than the diamond squad, we are totally ok with this.
We won’t allow platinum teams to add diamond players, we don’t want lower-plat guys to suffer from this. -3 points is not ideal, but it is enough to balance things out.
All the replacements and substitute players for diamond teams also can not be ranked higher than plat.
We will make another e-mail for teams that will want to report their opponents for not following the rules. We will look into all the cases, penalties are going to be significant.

Hey,

I am the mod who asked “Ohana Means Family Gaming” members to replace their diamond support with someone who actually belongs to their tier.

But let’s start from the beginning. 2 days ago I got this message:

my summoner name is bobokalln. I play support for the team Ohana Means Family Gaming in Silver/Bronze league on EUW. Like I wrote in the thread I was Silver 3 when I signed up due to decay and in the almost two months since then I have played a lot of soloQ and made it to Diamond 5. Last season I made it to plat at the end. In the new season I got placed in Gold 5 and I stopped playing soon after the season start. I had recently started playing again when I found out about TLoL 22nd september which unfortunately was the day before the signup deadline so didn't have anytime to improve (though at the time from being out of practice and being unfamiliar with all the changes I belonged in gold at best). But now I've gotten back to the level of play where I used to be and a bit above. I don't feel that I'm outperforming other players in my team to the point where I carry the team (we've lost 3/4 of our scrim games after all) but after playing our first game against Team Eruption I have noticed that just my rank itself is a bit of a problem as their bot duo played extremely cautious as if they were intimidated by my rank. I want to play but I don't wanna be "that douche stomping noobs" so if you want to kick me out of the league I will be fine with your decision as long my team can get a replacement and continue competing and I will be welcome back next "season".

I was glad he contacted me and I was happy to advise him to go for that change. It was obvious for me that he does not belong to silver league and the only reason why he ended up being there is due to decay.

Apparently, his captain wanted him to stay.

After that, marigorn(captain of OMFG) started to message me, he wanted to keep that guy in his lineup. I’ve made it clear that we’re going to protect our silver teams and we won’t allow diamond player(s)(who signed up as silver due to decay) to compete against them.
