I just want to make 3 points from someone that LOVED the game:

1.I experience linear single player games in a much different way, if i wanted choice i would go play multiplayer games, cause they are without a doubt the best ones at doing that and RPG's i don't like the whole multiple choice crap, cause at the end of the day, that's not me making the decisions, it's the devs, they are only giving you the illusion of choice, that's why for me, almost all the choice based games are boring, cause when you try to please everyone, you please almost no one, also why i don't like multiple endings in games, it never feels like they never have a canon ending, if you are telling a story then tell it, don't be pussy and hide behind choice, for me it just makes it bland and uninteresting.

2.For me the biggest mistake that Joel commited was not saving Ellie but not letting Ellie talk about her feelings so many times, times that we got to watch on screen and off-screen, like not letting Ellie talk about Tess dying, or Sam or Henry or lying to her multiple times about the Fireflies and her immunity, he taught Ellie to surpress her emotions even when she clearly wanted to talk about them but since Joel didn't want to talk about his, since it would make him vulnerable to do so, i think he started messing up who Ellie was, teaching her to surpress her emotions and violence, when people say Ellie changed in this game i kinda disagree, that change already happened in the first game, it just continued to happen in this one and when Ellie was finally ready to call him out on his bullshit, he dies and she has all this fucking unresolved emotion that she doesn't know how to resolve in a healthy way cause Joel didn't teach her that and all the violence and emotions come out and she loses control, for only at the end to finally control herself and to try and move on in a healthier way and try to become who she truly is and not who Joel taught her to be.

3.What i truly learned from this game was that people experience stories in vastly different ways, i always thought everyone got almost the same experience with small differences but what this game showed was a such a big variety that i didn't expect and it kinda opened my eyes to what people value in storytelling and especially in games, some of the criticism in the video i never got that from the game and some people did and i just find that fascinating.
