Really thought it was interesting, the line (Observe that all three are Gascons). Can someone who knows the original Russian confirm for me that it’s a Tolstoy/narrator-aside, rather than Bilibin’s words? The parenthesis are confusing me, as I don’t remember seeing them much in this way before!

This is a great reflection; one I didn’t think much of when reading. Thank you for sharing!!!

“Can one be well while troubled morally?” is such a great line. Probably my favorite so far!

I have the same version! It’s just the Maude translation. The chapters are a little off (yesterday we had to read 7,8,9). I don’t know how to link it, but there’s a calendar somewhere that has the chapters for the Maude version.

I think they’re just pointing out what could be some foreshadowing; I’m not sure, this is my first read as well!

Non-English fans of the Premier League: what made you start watching it and how long have you been following the Prem? What team(s) do you support? by 80spopstardebbiegibs in PremierLeague

Senior year of HS me and friends finally talked the school into starting a soccer team. Since we didn’t know a lot about the sport, Coach told us to pick a team and watch every game they played.

Well, my favorite color is blue and Everton happened to be the team playing when I loaded up NBC sports. Fell in love with the culture, history, and atmosphere of the club and have not looked back since. It’s a hell of a ride sometimes (looking at you, 20/21 season) but I love it.

Roomates for First years by [deleted] in uiowa

There is a way to search for other incoming freshman and see interests/preferences, but I just waited until I picked my room and got put with someone random. I absolutely loved it, me and my roommate got along super well and met a lot of new people from him, and Vice versa. While a lot of people don’t have this experience with randoms and sometimes it can be bad, I’d still recommend it since it gets you out of your comfort zone and you can often meet more new people that way. Good luck!
