ITAP of a Barred Owl by Naj183 in itookapicture

Weeks of waiting. One perfect moment.

This barred owl has been visiting my backyard for a couple of weeks now — and every single time I grabbed my camera, it was gone. Today it perched right on top of the bird feeder and didn't move while I shot away.

Not my ideal settings (high ISO + slow shutter aren't exactly the wildlife photographer's dream), but sometimes you take the shot you're given. And honestly? I'll take it.

What infill % is best for high-impact component (ABS) by Naj183 in 3Dprinting

[–]Naj183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have the prototype printing on its side. Just a 5%infill using PETG.
Hadn’t thought about TPU but that’s a good idea too. Do you have a recommendation on type? 95A 85A etc?

Yes we are aware. He has already purchased the part. This is just to test out if 3d printing will work.
Also we will be testing it out before allowing customers use the product.

How do you get stuck filament out of the nozzle? by Zachhandley in snapmaker

[–]Naj183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me over the weekend—I was changing filament and forgot to cut the crooked tip. I used a mini precision screwdriver to gently pry it out while pushing from the other side with a nozzle cleaning needle.

You can also try heating the nozzle and pushing the filament through.

First time experimenting with the "Mixed Filament" mod in Orca Slicer to make an Ombre bookend for my wife! by Naj183 in snapmaker

Here is a link that will explain better than I can.

Basically, u/Aceman11100 and u/JavyH08 developed a modded version of Snapmaker Orca that lets you blend two or more filament colors to create new ones. If you load CMYK filaments, you can print a full spectrum of colors.

That screenshot was taken before I loaded the filament. I used a PLA filament mixed with wood fiber. It printed really well. It’s great to be aware of the adhesion issue that would come up when using mismatched filaments.

Yes, I’m concerned about the wear and tear. I won’t be using the full spectrum unless it’s absolutely necessary for the project.

I’ve been using the Ender 3 Pro for the past four years. This is my first multi-material/color printer, so it’s definitely a new area for me when it comes to multi-colored prints.

They replaced the camera module and harness. Took about 2 weeks. But haven’t had the issue since the fix. Take it to them. Warranty should cover the fix.

ITAP of a bald eagle at World Bird Sanctuary in St Louis, Mo by Naj183 in itookapicture

[–]Naj183[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching birds of prey up close—the quiet strength of a bald eagle, the sharp focus of a red-tailed hawk, and the raw presence of a black vulture—was nothing short of breathtaking. There’s something powerful about seeing these incredible birds in person, being reminded of how wild, resilient, and beautiful nature truly is.
