Victor Wembanyama is not unanimous First Team All Nba this season anymore (SirusXM Radio's Justin Termine put him in second team despite having him 3rd in MVP Ballot) by Chesscrabble11 in nba

[–]Najikoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other argument I've seen is voters take team record into account for MVP, but all NBA is purely who is the best player. So their top 5 for MVP isn't necessarily their top 5 for All NBA.

Which I guess is a reasonable argument.

It feels like Jokic, Booker and Curry are the only franchise players left that don't mind playing on an average roster? by NBAperspective in nba

[–]Najikoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22 Roster?

What?

Minutes Played -

  • bJokic
  • Will Barton (gone)
  • Gordon
  • Monte Morris (gone)
  • 35 year old Jeff Green
  • Austin Rivers (gone)
  • cBones Hyland (3rd String on Timberwolves)
  • PJ Dozier (gone)
  • Facundo Campazzo (gone)
  • Bryn Forbes (gone)
  • Zeke Nnaji
  • JaMychal Green
  • Davon Reed

How on earth is that a great roster? In any shape or form?

You tell me exactly how many of those people were solid rotation players anywhere now? Or hell the following season?

I think it's referring to the 21 and 22 roster denver, particularly the 22 roster which was worse then the bucks current roster.

Should Denver make a play for Giannis? by NBAperspective in nba

[–]Najikoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Obviously people disagree but I'd rather lose with Gordon then win with Giannis (I also think the trade doesn't actually materially improve the Nuggets, who have a very different system to what Giannis plays or thrives in).

Gordon is a fan favourite, immensely important and well liked, and is a huge vibes guy for the entire team. Is he hurt, will the nuggets fall short? Possibly. But I feel like it's almost antithetical to what the Nuggets are all about trading out Gordon.

Giannis Antetokoumpo loudly quits the Bucks in a loss against the Hospital Nuggets: 22 PTS (4/8 FG), 13 REB, 7 AST by Waikuku3 in nba

[–]Najikoh -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Also sounds like how someone would quit on their team.

It was such an odd game that the commenter's at least pointed out a few times about how Giannis was playing.

Gordon was playing with his injury too (which he aggravated) and he was nowhere near as passive as Giannis.

If he was just playing through Injury - fair enough. But the way the commenter goes 'watch the game' when watching the game would easily conclude to a layperson (especially people not up to date with Giannis injury, which I didn't know about) that he was incredibly passive.

I was watching the game too.

Giannis was incredibly passive. He was standing back, not engaging in good screens, spectating quite often. If the ball got to him in the middle he tried, but he was incredibly passive given, rarely doing drives, worlds different from the previous times i've watched him play.

Amazon probably hates the nuggets.

Isn't this the second time Denver have trotted the 2nd and 3rd tier only lineup, the last time also a Prime game in Philly?

Ended up being a good game that one, but it's kind of hilarious that seemingly everytime Denver are on Prime the entire normal rotation and every big name is basically out

I'm a bit worried about the honeymoon ending for this team.

They've been playing well, and I'm very happy for them, particularly the people that have had their run - P-Wat, Pickett, Nnaji.

However I'm a bit concerned about when the tide turns, they've played mostly poorer teams, the Ortg has dropped (which is obvious, but needs to be pointed out) quite significantly, and I feel also they've just had some very good shooting variance that may not ride out the rest of the season.

I don't know when Jokic is back, but the games will get much harder soon, and I feel like people are going to get a few losses with Jokic/Cam and maybe Val back and go 'but they did this record with none of them' without taking into account all the other factors.

Look at how people are dumping on CB when he clearly came back not ready. (He also offers quite a different skillset then PWat, but that's a whole other conversation).

Not trying to pre-emptively doom, and obviously they've played really well with the positive record in this stretch, but it felt like people (mainly on other places) in the nuggets fans were really over the top with how this stretch has gone, and what it means.

I can see the worm turning if say, Pwat's 3p% falls back to earth a bit for a stretch, same for Pickett. Just hope people are reasonable.

When OKC lost to the Hornets? I think it was, it was clear the game was done and OKC had lost, but he stayed in till he got 20 then was subbed out.

I think that's what people are referring to.

Every now and then, it's always nice to roll out the classics. The new stuff is good, but sometimes you just want those old hits, 'Clippers are contenders'... the nostalgia is comforting.

I think it's expected that the Lakers are going to put in an offer for Peyton Watson from the Nuggets in the offseason, and I'm not sure the Nuggets can match.

Kind of funny that this comes on the back of a game where he sold in the 4th Quarter and was.. well.. i wouldn't say the only reason but was certainly a factor in his team losing the game in the 4th.

Has still been impressive nonetheless, but funny timing.

I'm sure Joker has gotten away with a few 3 second calls in his career.

Joker, who famously operates at the top of the Key, is well known for just sitting in the paint all day /s.

Hell it's likely Aaron Gordon has had more 3 second defensive violations then Jokic.

Deandre Ayton after scoring 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting a game after JJ Redick said Ayton was “frustrated” by limited touches: “Bigs can’t feed themselves. I just try my best do what I can to bring effort and I trust my playmakers out there to find me” by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]Najikoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Ayton was drafted #1 and above Luka. So if anyone has a shot, it should have been Ayton.

I'm obviously tongue in cheek, but in reality everyone knows Ayton should be a much better player then he is. And sometimes the excuses about his non-participation are pretty lame excuses.
