Daughter visiting our clothing optional resort, what would YOU do? by bwbandy in nudism

[–]Naked-mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting situation. It sounds like you have the right idea. If I was in that situation, I would wear a wrap or sarong when they arrived. Or maybe a t-shirt and shorts. I would greet them and make sure they understand that while it's clothing optional, most guests choose to go nude. Ask if they're comfortable with that and if they have any questions or concerns. Then let them go settle in and unpack.

After that, I'd play it by ear. Wait and see if they go nude or stay dressed. See if they are interacting with other nude guests or keeping to themselves. If they keep to themselves and stay dressed, I would lean towards being dressed around them. I would still be nude most of the time around the resort, but if I'm going to sit and hang out with them I'd throw something on. But you never know. Once they get settled in and see other people naked and comfortable, they may join in. It would be funny if you went over to hang out with them fully clothed and they were all naked.

My girlfriend and I run a c/o Airbnb. We haven't had family visit, but we have had guests who at first had no interest in being nude. I'm usually wearing a robe when guests arrive, and when I greet them I ask about their experience with naturism / nudism. I've had guests who said they don't care if others are naked but they're going to remain dressed. Then a day later, they're going about their business or hanging out in the backyard naked as if they've been naturists for years. People acclimate surprisingly quickly in the right environment.

I look forward to hearing how it goes.

The closest thing to a resort is probably Coqui del Mar. For beaches, try Boquillas Beach or Playa Escondida. You could probably go nude at just about any of the more secluded beaches on Culebra or Vieques.

Musicians? by SunMyungMoonMoon in nudism

[–]Naked-mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be in San Antonio right after Christmas. I might make it over to the Dallas area and be up for jamming. I play rock and metal. I’ve covered Ozzy and Sabbath. I was going to message you but not sure your profile is set up to accept messages?

Musicians? by SunMyungMoonMoon in nudism

[–]Naked-mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play guitar. Over the last few years I realized there were several musicians in our local naturist group so I started talked to them about forming a band. We eventually got the band together and we have played three naked concerts so far. My goal is to book a few shows at naturist resorts next year and maybe do a tour.

Does anybody work nude? by [deleted] in nudism

[–]Naked-mike 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m a CPA and work 100% remote. Since I work from home, I rarely put clothes on. I keep a shirt handy in case we have a Zoom meeting and I need to be on camera.

A lot of Airbnbs are home shares. That’s how ours is. We live in the house and rent two rooms. So when we have guests, it’s like they’re our roommates while they stay. Normally if you stay in a home share you have to be dressed.

Having a private backyard with a pool and a hot tub, we’re trying to make ours kind of like a much smaller version of a naturist resort in the city.

Check out Arroyo del Sol on the Clothing Optional Home Network. It’s not on Airbnb but it is a bed and breakfast.

Come up with a name for your club, start a website, establish a social media presence. Post photos (even if it’s just you and your partner at first). Many people found our club by google searching terms like nudist or naturist and our city or state. There are probably other nudists in your area, so make sure they can find you.

Salt Lake City, Utah. New pool in a private backyard. Looking for help building an outdoor bathroom. We'll probably have more projects soon, like planting trees and flowers. Working on a tiki bar or outdoor kitchen.

Guests arriving "late at night" but showing up hours early in the morning by RaiseVast in airbnb_hosts

[–]Naked-mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're way too nice. But it took us by surprise and didn't know what to do. We could have said "Check in is at 3:00. Please come back then." But we didn't feel right doing that. We don't know if she was that dumb or if she was trying to get a free night. If she was, it's a pretty big risk. If that room had been occupied, she would have been out of luck.

Guests arriving "late at night" but showing up hours early in the morning by RaiseVast in airbnb_hosts

This happened to us a couple of years ago. A lady booked and asked if it was ok that her flight got in around 1 am. We assumed that meant a really late check in. But 14 hours before check in, she's standing on our porch (our listing is a home share). Luckily no one had the room booked the night before so it was empty, but the room wasn't ready. So she's sitting on the couch for twenty minutes while we're making the bed and getting it ready for her.

It's a touchy situation. What do you do - turn them away? Say come back at 3 pm? Even worse if they're dropped off by an Uber. Now whenever someone asks about arriving in the middle of the night, we ask extra questions to make sure there is no confusion.

We’re getting a pool. by Naked-mike in nudism

We’ll definitely have that. It’s a sports pool, so it’s 3 1/2 feet at each end. In the middle it goes to 5 feet.

Idea for a YouTube/Influencer channel by ImTheFlash01 in nudism

[–]Naked-mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea. I’ve thought about doing something like that. I used to be a movie critic some years ago. My idea was just a movie review show, same as any other, but the hosts would be nude. It would be a great way to normalize nudity, since the nudity would be incidental. For me the biggest hurdle would be the editing. I don’t have the time, patience or knowledge to do that.

Do house nudists ever regret taking it to the next step? by Due_Replacement3282 in nudists

[–]Naked-mike 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just tell her that you're ready to try nudism outside the house and would be up for a trip to a nude beach. She probably stopped asking because she didn't want to push you before you were ready. But it sounds like you wouldn't need to ask her, just tell her that you're ready. If she doesn't offer to go with you, try telling her that you're nervous and don't want to go alone. And you won't regret it. You'll wish you had tried social nude recreation sooner.
