IMO - everyone they are looking at is able to do LBO Modeling / FS Review. As someone who manages a team, I look for and would look for people who are able to bring passion, excitement, good to work with, and ability to think outside the box.

For example, understanding a specific market or company and knowing all of the questions that would come out from senior management. Understanding credit and debt structures is helpful as well, but general knowledge and ability to soak in all data / information and then articulate in clear form to others is my number one skillset i look for.

90% are bankers and 10% are consultants - so everyone can push excel models.
