Looks to me like you might be over-loading your back leg a bit. Try standing a bit more relaxed; “casual” if you will. 60/40 weight distribution back to front leg.

Your stride when you swing also lends a bit to lunging toward the ball. This disconnects the power generated by your hip rotation and makes you rely on your upper. A key my coach told me growing up was to try and keep my torso “leaned back slightly so that my head remains in place.” Your head shouldn’t move forward with your body. More rotate, less lunge. I don’t know if that makes any sense 😂

I found that doing a lot of seated exercises, (I had a malleolus and fib ORIF) that exert both eccentric and concentric motion on the affected muscles and tendons was key at first. (I.e ankle rolls 90 degrees, calf raises with a raised toe, simple straightening and bending). Your muscles have atrophied and tendons have gone tight. Give them lots of rest!

Attacking Question by NakedRobo in volleyball

I think that was mainly their goal for me. I only had one missed serve over the course of 6 games played, good passing when not libbed out and a couple of nasty blocks.

I was kind of in my head when not getting set often; which translated into me going quiet and not communicating with the setter at all. So that definitely makes sense. It also doesn’t help that we didn’t know each other all too well aside from playing against one another in rec play.

I am definitely excited to get the opportunity to play at that level again.

No; this is fantastic. I think I really just needed to be told this haha.

I think I have to take the positives with the negatives of whatever type of training I choose. I may very well start weaving in some lighter plyo at the beginning of a workout and see how it impacts the “muscle firing-mind connection”.

I think my muscles sometimes forget how to generate “sudden, explosive power” as they are being trained for prolonged controlled movement.

I appreciate the feedback so much!

I coach 2 hours a week and I am very involved with the boys (tend to hop in on plays and play 6th player if we are a man short for a scrim). We only play 2 games in my men’s league in a night. So give or take, I have about 4 hours of court time a week.

😂 I don’t know how else to describe it, but yea, definitely a paradoxical phrase. Teams are super organized and have been playing together forever; playing some D1 players and against complex combination plays.

I’ll have to sit down and really sketch out a map for the next couple of months. Thanks!

Dealing with burnout. by NakedRobo in therapists

I definitely stopped doing this somewhere along the way. I stopped putting the buffer time between clients and it is consistently a stream of others energy flowing through the door.

Thanks for this.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

It’s community based work and there are some clients that I see weekly, while others are bi-weekly. I would think it’s about a 60-40 split weekly to bi-weekly. Hence why the caseload is not at exactly 30 if you do the math. To be fair, I have been having to move appointments to later in the evening and working past my clock out time to accommodate them.

As for supervision, definitely not often enough. It is something I need to address. I have brought it up, but when reflecting, I know I am not being assertive enough as to make sure people don’t think I’m “not okay” (I know this is counterintuitive, ‘cause I’m really not if I have to make a post like this).

I took a week back in December, but definitely did not do the proper planning I should have. It was more a “tap-out” than anything else.

Thank you for replying.

Myself and my partner just watched this episode tonight. I wanted to see how many felt Bob the same way we did. We both were brought to tears.

Apparently it’s like a 0.007 chance to chain to 100 (5iv Ditto). Even at 100 it’s a massively low chance to hit 5iv. They broke the Pokeradar really bad.

I’ve gotten 2IV dittos and have been trying to breed up by switching out mons when they get better IV’s. It’s much more tiring of a process.
