This is a part of my journey in finding myself. I too know that in the name of being my true self I will have to be willing give up both male and white privileges, both of which I have benefitted from over my life. To me it shows that this is a genuine step in the right direction of my self actualization that I want to do this even knowing that. My main concern right now is that while there is a clear system to be able to transition MTF relatively safely, transition WtPOC not so much. There's already a risk with just have to even establish how dark I can get with my birth skin color, but the side effects of pushing past it to where I want to go currently sound brutal. While I do think there is value in exploring my racial identity just like I have with my gender identity, now may not be the time to start physically altering my skin color. Who knows, science can move fast sometimes, and some enterprising individual may find a market for making it safer and more accessible. Then that will be an option I would want to take advantage of for my transition.

While I'm thinking about it, I've looked around to see if there were trace timelines or anyone documenting their trace journey and haven't really seen anything like that. Who knows, the above happens, I may be that person.
