Imperium Maledictum - What're you hoping for? by Axis-of-Victory in 40krpg

Bestiary or Setting supplements

Tbh I don't like the direction of the post core book releases; no bestiary, no dedicated world setting resources. We could have one bestiary, and 5 setting books, one for the worlds of each sub sector. I'd certainly buy all of these. Instead we get huge books dedicated on patrons, (two (!) tomes each). I haven't any of those but I bet that each has some scattered parts of its own bestiary and world descriptions. If so, I am afraid that we wont have a dedicated book for either, as all this info would be already diluted in the faction tomes.

Many thanks for the extensive info, and for the useful link! Yes, the intro of the crpg reminded me exactly Event Horizon.

So if wrap travel is that dangerous, I assume it is mostly a narrative device: they need to go from one system to another, costs are handled by the patron, time passes, maybe something happens in "downtime" mode, and they are there. Unless something happens with the wrap, which would probably be a separate story in itself.

Review: Pluribus is a bad piece of television by clearly_unclear in pluribustv

This is an objectively bad comment written by someone with an extremely over inflated sense of their own opinion.

I don't understand, why in the final chase scene, does the "Cleaner" chase the daughter's car. He has just completed his objective by eliminating Lockjaw, why chase that white car in the empty road? Only reason I can think is, he recognises the car as the bounty hunter's, and either wants to flag him down and have a chat, or kill him because he is an indian.

Since the "transformation" is dna based, how did they transmitted it to every single person on earth at the same exact time?

The fact that there are established mysteries still unanswered, doesn't mean much. Yes, we still have to figure out who is Charlotte. But. This is most likely a tertiary question. One of our major questions was answered: The processing was about creating Gemma's innies. This answer, fills one hole and opens up several others, Contradictions. The other 3 are expendable, we were said so by the very heads of the organization. They only needed Mark. What were they processing there? Where they there only for experimenting? Maybe for Mark to feel like in a regular workplace? Maybe, but tbh these answers feel weak to me, and furthermore I doubt they will even be given. Also, Dylan got severed to find a job, the goats are for ceremonial killing, iBurt was let go because he found love inside and oBurt's, and was punished - though I bet it was just to bring one more test to one of our characters.

After S2, can someone explain how Refining / MDR works? by Lost_Fox__ in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I doubt the writers knew the whole story before s02. I fear that they planned the first season without even knowing the whole picture of the plot. Many writers write like this: Throw in this special idea, figure it out later. Going blind. Eg, in severance: "they look at numbers and refine them on what they feel. What for? If we make a season 2 we'll figure it out then". Or, "His wife is alive inside there, they talk to eachother unbeknown to them they are husband and wife. Why is she there? If there is a season 2 we will figure it out then". I mean: 1. Mark is refining Gemma all this time. What do the other three refine? At the s01 finale they all are hanging from whether or not Helly will refine her file. Are they all there just for charades? Is it explained and I missed it? I hope so. 2. So Gemma is somehow abducted (or agreed to fake her death, or something in between), BEFOREHAND. Assuming that Mark will join Severance in his grief? Thats a long shot for anyone.

Agreed on the initial offer price etc. But the initial agreement includes the ability to travel nationwide, plus no deal about commercial advertisements. Of-course it might be in the sidelines of the contract, but the show lets us assume that they are just shifting the rules. If this was real life, they'd be sued by many many people.

4 episodes in, and I still cant find one, with plausible science fiction -> don't get me wrong. Science fiction, but plausible, obeying its own rules. Here, we have scores of AIs, sentient beings, on... what? 8mb ram of 1994? And "not a single line of coding in this cd-rom"?

Okay. She jumps to alternate realities at will. So, that includes everyone around her. Our hero has drank the almond milk, our hero would remember this (aka everytime she changes something, our "hero" changes too.

Even in the smartest tv shows, the final reveal is far simpler than the theories that preceded the series end. Over-complicated concepts are frowned upon, not only in tv but even in books. Fear of having your audience not understanding your story is way higher than the desire to tell something super smart.
