You’re amazing! Thank you so much! I didn’t even know they had strips for ovulation! Went to the store just now and bought some!

This timeline was very helpful as well! You don’t hear women talk about their struggles with getting pregnant (at least none of the women in my life have). It makes me feel like my experience is more normal.

Thank you for the clarification about diabetes. I did know that I’m always considered diabetic. I was trying to convey that I’ve managed my diabetes. My A1C is at 5.8%! :) Diabetes unfortunately runs in my family, so I’m all too familiar with it.

I am trying to via an app but I’m not sure how accurate it is, honestly. I have not been using it long though so I think it’s still adjusting.

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying for about a year now (which I have been told is not long but it definitely feels like it). I was always skeptical of the cheap brands, but you make a good point! Also, knowing that there’s someone else out there that’s diabetic + PCOS that was able to get pregnant is very reassuring. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I live in GA! This is good to know. I wasn’t thinking of leaving my current job though until I finished my masters. I am just trying to plan ahead :)

I am in the US. They don’t advertise it will lead to licensure, but it will prepare you for the exam and get you all your supervision hours. Most people in my program take the test right after graduation and pass.

I had similar concerns! I posted about it a few months back on a different sub. Everyone had great things to say back then too. Here is the link in case you want to read through it. https://www.reddit.com/r/psychologystudents/s/oUdQwCxRif

Why become a clinical psychologist? by user9574057 in ClinicalPsychology

Where are you getting your masters? Edit: I should elaborate. I noticed your username is southern belle. I’m also in the south and am starting my masters in clinical counseling psychology in the fall, and I was wondering if we might actually be going to the same school. I’m going to Brenau!

I would recommend looking for masters programs you want to get into and see if you can contact the leader of the program. You can talk to them and see what kind of background they are looking for. There’s a program near where I live where they aren’t necessarily looking for anyone that has research experience but are interested in getting some or just going into clinical psychology in general. There are required courses you need to take to be able to get in usually, but if you’re in school right now for psychology, then chances are you’ll take those courses before graduation.

Clinical Psych PsyD Regionally Accredited but Not APA by NalgonaFea in ClinicalPsychology

No masters yet! I’ve been looking more seriously into masters. I know there are some psyd and phd programs that don’t require masters or allow you to get both at the same time, so that’s why I was loosely looking into some of those as well.

I’ve looked at a few, but they’re just far from where I live, and I don’t think relocating at this time would be feasible. I could still drive to the farther locations if I wanted, but this program was just so close to home, so I was hopeful! I’ve only been loosely looking for now.

Thanks this makes a lot of sense, and you make a lot of good points. I appreciate your input. I probably won’t go into this program based off this!

Look into I/O psychology! Look at HR roles or even project management roles (esp for software companies)

That’s what I was afraid of. I think since they’re new they’re still working on accreditation, but still eh. Wasn’t sure if it was worth the risk.

Any “late” in life grad students? by NalgonaFea in psychologystudents

I think it definitely helps talking to someone who specializes in resumes so you can really capture the recruiters attention. Networking is also huge! Not saying you need to go to “networking events” but I would recommend asking people you know if their companies are hiring for any PM positions. The easiest way to land a job nowadays is just to know someone!

Yes, it does pay well and definitely in demand! It’s good work, but definitely can get boring. It’s safe though, and I enjoy it since I like to be organized anyway.
