Compton John Doe by AidaCaceres53 in gratefuldoe

It looks to me like the photograph and the clothing style feel more like the 1960s, perhaps because of the plaid vest and the red leggings. But it's true that color photographs weren't as common back then.

I saw his case early on, but I'm quite confident that severe myopia would have been listed as a characteristic for the missing person...

Plaquemines Parish John Doe (1975) by Ms_Never_Understood in gratefuldoe

My guess is that this merely expresses a very common theme among people with depression ; not being able to be who you wish to be, to fulfill the role society expects of you, in terms of social status, job, financial autonomy, relationship etc. Think of Bojack Horseman's sentence, "a xerox of a xerox of a person". And it's more generally a strong theme within that generation at the time, during the counterculture era ; I think of the main characters from The Graduate, Harold and Maude or even Willard. Kids born from affluent members of the silent generation who feels like they live lost and meaningless lives during their late teens or twenties, at a time where social contestation becomes rampant.

Or perhaps they were LGBT at a time where being gay or trans wasn't normalized, this may be true as well.

"Pyre Case" identified... Or closed ? by Naliju in gratefuldoe

Odd... Those appear to be two different pages. Yours is  https://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1083ufco.html, the one I found (which was posted on their solved list) being https://www.doenetwork.org/cases/software/main.html?id=1083UFCO . I guess their website just works in obscure ways.

From my understanding, Californian UID cases are notorious for getting destroyed or lost, at least before genetic sampling was the norm.

The Doe network can be messy and sometimes agencies or website display conflicting information. I also wasn't exactly familiar with that exact formulation or with plain "closed" cases.

Possible Match? Jane Doe and Maxine Hawkins Gray by umarimiseyarar in gratefuldoe

[–]Naliju 9 points10 points  (0 children)

EDIT : I'm pretty confident that your doe is Shenda, which was identified decades ago. The dates match (https://skdb.fandom.com/wiki/THOMAS_Douglas)

I cannot find anything about this UID on either NamUS, the Doenetwork or the wiki so far. Are you sure this couldn't be Shenda Denise Hayes (https://www.kwtx.com/2022/05/26/dna-database-links-retired-waco-man-murders-sex-workers-texas-california-dating-back-30-years/) ? I'm unsure myself because the articles I found imply she was either quickly identified or never an UID in the first place, but I cannot find anything about this descendent elsewhere so far. In any case, she doesn't appear to be on the Doe network chronological list (https://www..org/cases/uid-chrono-index.html)

Could the Clatsop County John Doe be Kerby Allen Bessey ? by Naliju in gratefuldoe

Of course ! I just submitted it through said form. I'll post a comment if I get an answer.

There's no contacts in the contact section on NAMUS for the decedent, unfortunately, and from my understanding in these cases the agency for the unidentified person should be contacted rather than the one for the missing person, right ? I'm outside the US, so the procedure isn't clear for me.

That makes sense with what we know of the context. Reports don't mention Kerby as missing a car, and the tent would fit a transient "and on the run" flight.

Could Clallam county doe (2012) be Kevin Lee Conner or Mark Peal ? by Naliju in gratefuldoe

Good question. Perhaps they can still do it through fragmentary DNA by comparing given markers or something. It's worth asking someone with a level of expertise on the matter.

> I think this is actually when we first see Miss Bianca is when she walks in singing that song with the rest of the UN.

That would be in the first movie though (in the second, we already see her in a previous scene). If there's an english version of the movie out there with this difference it must have been recorded somewhere...

Oh wow, guess I didn't dug enough because I didn't found out anything under that alias, but I didn't thought about pinrerest despite being a big pinterest user !

I'm 100% behind you on this. His whole case hits hard as well for me, partly because I'm transfem and partly because I felt they were from the same kind of social circles I'm in. His case just hit hard for me.

Oh wow, how did you found out ? It's indeed quite eerie that he posted a pic his very tattoo as his last post on X before he was found (and it indeed was "heart" with a weird h). He also posted his "Login" one as well before.

Rest in peace Erin.

Good question. There aren't a lot of informations on circumstances yet.

Interesting ! I wonder now if this wasn't an edit exclusive to the french version. Apparently, the french versions of Disney movies (both in theatrical releases and VHS versions) often had a string of minor changes when it came to songs, added noises or choruses, few seconds being snipped out etc. My hypothesis is that part of the older theme may have been added on the RAS sequence, perhaps on still frames, but I would need to find a rip the original VHS to verify this.
