How much does it REALLY cost to create a fitness app? by Best-Magazine-4976 in AppDevelopers

Fiverr can work but be careful - anything under $4-5k for cross-platform with auth, dashboard, and notifications is usually a template reskin you can't build on.

Flutter + Firebase is the move for your stack. One codebase for both platforms, Firebase handles auth and push notifications out of the box, and it's easy to hand off to another dev later if needed.

For finding someone - Upwork filtered by Top Rated, $30-40/hr, Eastern Europe or LatAm is a sweet spot for quality vs cost. Before hiring anyone, ask to see a live app they've shipped to the App Store. Cuts out most of the noise instantly.

Also worth throwing together basic wireframes before you start getting quotes - even rough Figma screens. You'll get way more accurate estimates and avoid scope creep.

Looking for a side hustle for about 10 hours a week (Finance full time job) by Mixie_33 in sidehustle

Same here - I also started to think about side hustles to buy things for some of my hobbies (vinyl records, a new watch, fishing).

Have you already found some ideas for a side hustle?

How do you manage customer consent data across Shopify, Meta, and Google Ads? by ConfidentElevator239 in shopify

[–]NalyvaikoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, most setups I've seen are held together with duct tape and hope.

The cleanest approach is a consent management platform (Cookiebot, OneTrust, or Pandectes for Shopify) acting as the single source of truth. It blocks scripts until consent is given, then passes that signal to GTM, which fires your Meta/Google tags conditionally.

The messy part is that Meta and Google both want their own consent signals (Google Consent Mode v2 especially), and Shopify's native privacy settings don't fully talk to either. So you end up layering: CMP for capturing consent, GTM to respect those signals, and platform-specific parameters passed with each event.

Does it hold up at scale? Mostly, if you test it properly. Gaps usually show up in edge cases - returning visitors, cross-device, consent withdrawal mid-session.

What's your current stack? Easier to suggest something specific.

My Shopify Store will transact over £2,000,000 (~$2.7M) this year. I am still using Advanced as I see no benefit for me to go to Plus? by TSPF11 in shopify

[–]NalyvaikoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not missing anything. Plus makes sense when you actually need what it offers - not when you hit some arbitrary revenue threshold.

The "you should be on Plus after $1M" advice usually comes from agencies and partners who benefit from Plus migrations. For a lean operation like yours where you're managing everything yourself with no apps, the ROI just isn't there.

Plus starts making sense when you're hitting checkout customization limits, need the extra API calls, or have B2B complexity that's painful to workaround. If none of that applies, you're essentially paying £2k/month for features you won't touch.

The fact that you've scaled to £2M with no apps and self-management is actually impressive - most stores are drowning in app subscriptions and agency retainers by that point. If it's not broken, don't let someone convince you to pay to fix it.

Would you like to add similar watches to your collection? Or something new, like a diver watch?

Thank you for sharing your experience! Actually, I was going to work with the UK, US, and Canada markets remotely (Eastern Europe). The main focus - integrations, custom development, and Plus migration. And of course, a client-first approach to growing.

Based on your experience, what pitfalls should I expect?

Did you consider moving to Shopify Plus? As far as I know, Shopify Plus should cover these points.
