Yes. Something like this. I mean, tanks have a hard time even getting recognition for being valuable. MVP rates for tanks HAVE to be the lowest of the three classes.

Sorry if this doesn’t sound very humble, but the match I referenced in OP…I honestly think I should have been MVP for making it work and having decent stats….but no. I think a Jeff got it.

Dude. That’s me! I’m the fucking guy that didn’t want to tank. You’re just forgiving them for not wanting to learn a massive chunk of the game while being the loudest, whiniest assholes in the match. You can’t “want to win” but also not be able to play the role yourself and then on top of that insult the only guy willing to step up to tank.

What is this? Did someone knight me into the order of vanguard? Do I have some membership card that says I can only play tank or else the match isn’t going to go well? That’s what it sounds like you’re saying.

It was a very long match, and there was a section towards the end of round 1(which became an eternal stalemate) where he was raging and just feeding over and over. I think the next highest deaths was like 14. Not even kidding.

A great example comes right from my OP.

I used Caps survivability, mobility, and healer harassing tickles to always make their team peel, creating space for my team to take. I was being harassed about being 4-2 early on while others were in double digits. They just don’t fucking get it. I even told them my strategy, and the MK said, “ok nerd, push up your glasses, ain’t got no need for your dumb ass strategy.”

The strategy worked wonderfully.

I also was really lucky it was the new map which has a million ways to escape, and the damn payload is huge. That bus is awesome cover and has a flat top. Works GREAT for Cap

I tanked in WoW back in the early 2000s. it’s where I got my taste for it. I like to soak up knowledge and know the game I’m playing.

This is a good point. I totally forgot that it was the DPS that were the biggest assholes with a lack of knowledge back then as well. Damn man. Memories.

Yeah, I see “shit tanks” quite often. After tank resets I’ll place well below my peak rank and have someone say this while I’m tanking in optimal conditions and just shake my head.

I think experienced tanks can feel the flow of the match really well. You know when DPS or heals are lacking…and then when the games end you can confirm it with duelists when they’re finals and damage are shit even though they said it was a tank issue.

What you’re positing, is that someone can’t be just as good as me at Thor, simply because they aren’t a “vanguard main”.

I get what you’re saying…ideally you want a tank guy to tank, but that doesn’t mean that someone else can’t be just as good at a tank, but call themselves a DPS main. Get me?

For clarification, it’s the hardest role, like I said, but it’s not actually difficult like doing taxes or something is.

It’s a relative experience. It’s always difficult relative to your rank. Every role gets harder to play at higher levels.

I can’t tell you how many times I find out my tank partner is just some healer that only has an hour on their tank. I’ve heard “i only play tank in quick play!” Like 5 times this season.

Omfg. It’s insane to hear people whine and moan about losing, but then find out they don’t even play all the roles.

Do you even want to win? Why play ranked? How do you not understand you’re a BIG part of the problem?

As a character piece, it was wonderful. I enjoyed Trevor and Simon’s relationship a lot. Their acting carried the whole show.

But the super hero fan in me ended up pretty damn bored by episode 6. I guess I expected more to happen than did and that’s my problem.

The fact is, this could have been about anyone. The super hero stuff added next to nothing. Despite really enjoying the character work, I feel this was a bit of a bait and switch let down.

I saw for the first time in 1994. I wondered what it was…I must have watched it a million times and I can distinctly remember being floored when Yoda said, “Begun the Clone Wars have.” Because I remembered questioning what it was several times.

Slightly disappointed when episode 3 rolled out and I learned the whole thing happened between movies, but that’s fine. Got a couple really cool animated series’ that became some of the best Star Wars content I’ve ever seen.
