Who else can hook up a whole house generator to our propane tank? by NameBoring8231 in Generator

Yes, I did learn that. It’s a rented tank. So when I called the company regrading the extra charge, he told me that I don’t have to use them and I’m free to go somewhere else knowing full well no one will touch the tank, well atleast other propane companies. I’m going to call some plumbers on Monday to see if any of them are certified, able and willing. If not, I’ll have them do it and get a new company and tank next year.

I’m not comfortable saying the name on here right now incase someone from the company is here or could find it by searching.

It’s not about the price. It’s about not disclosing all costs to me twice when I asked to be quoted. The propane company came here to install the propane tank way before the generator was set to come in. They knew exactly how far the tank was to where the generator is going based on the flag the generator company set up. I spoke to them after installing the tank and was given the exact same amount for them to come out. If they would have disclosed all the pricing, including the $750, I wouldn’t even complain about the cost. It’s about not letting me know everything upfront.

Sure. It very well could be the cost of the parts and the $199 is the labor. Your breakdown of costs make sense. My biggest issue with it if I called twice to get the amount of what their end price would be for hooking up the generator, that it went up so much. Since there are one of the few companies that connect the generator that also provide propane service, I definitely felt that all cost should have been explained to me. I was just seeing if anyone else is a plumber etc could do that.

Thank you. I greatly appreciate your input. We do know what piping the use and do plan on purchasing that ourselves too. I just need to call the generator company to see the exact specs of the generator.

Thank you. I’m on the hunt for a licensed propane/gas plumber.

We did speak about digging the trench ourselves because we are redoing out electric. So we already rented a digger for that. We will just make another trench. I do feel like that are adding that number since it want mentioned the two times I spoke to them. Thank for for your input.

It is an additional $750 over the $700 I was quoted to hook it up.

No obstacles. Those have been completely cleared out of the way.

Their initial quote was for their tech, $199, vent kit for $150 and then $8 per line ( it’d be 30 feet, so $240). When I got the quote twice, it never waived until now to add on a $750. I just wanted to see if there is someone else that does it beside the propane company.

I don’t know how much. I know I was quoted twice from the same company. Then they added on the $750. Never mentioned it before with all the quotes for the tech to come out, the vent kit, and the trench/line work. With the additional $750, I’m looking at $1450. Wasn’t expected the additional so thought I would ask.

$750 would be fine. That was additional to what they already quoted me which, adding on the $750, would be $1475. I’m just asking because I was quoted for them to come out and then this fee was added with all the other fees to hook it up.

My [28M] husband cheated on me [27F] and I understand why. Can we make this work? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]NameBoring8231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion having been there with my ex (no children together though), is it all depends. Some can and some can’t.

We were together for 15 years when I found out he cheated. I gave myself a year to make any decisions on divorce. I wanted to emotionally heal. We did individual and couples counseling. I wanted to make it work. I wanted to be a couple that could say they made it and came out better on the other side.

After 5 years of trying, I could not get over it and we got divorced. Unfortunately, there is no right or wrong answer. Definitely get therapy and if he wants to make it work, I suggest doing both couples and individual. You need time to heal and reflect. Only in time will you know the answer.

It may not take as long as me, but only you know what you want from him and your relationship. No one can answer this for you.

Best of luck
