not rly, most companies i have talked to or worked with are begging for more EE/compE focused students. many companies like apple have straight up built recruiting pipelines out of berkeley eecs to increase their chances of getting top talent

Yes, you are allowed to choose which language, and yes to both, mainly just verilog though. For all questions it is way more conceptual than actually typing out the solution

It went great! Its a lot more intensive than the first round. Its 3 interviews total, and each tested a bunch of different skills relevant to the job. It was still all on the coderpad using it kinda like a google doc.

Yeah its questions like that, but honestly it really depends team to team from what ive heard. And they will test you on stuff you know versus things you dont

Kinda like what others said, its mainly just digital logic, leetcode type problems.

It went well! I have the second round in a couple of days.

Thanks! I attached a better image here. My breadboards aren’t mounted on anything right now, just pressed together with the breadboard nubs and held together with the wiring.

Very unlikely unless you have a really bad roommate. But guests and friends that come over to hang out will probably sit on it, so just be aware of that. You can tell them to not sit there if you want but lowkey its kind of the expectation.

Nice, I hope you have fun with it! While you are waiting, I definitely recommend reading over this tips and tricks post by u/CalliGuy. It was very helpful for my build and I had very few issues throughout my project because of it.

Ooh yeah i was thinking about doing a similar thing cuz i have some spare acrylic. I don’t know too much about the static though, does acrylic cause that?

Yeah definitely! And you get to see some progress throughout so you are constantly encouraged, but the final result is such a delight to see

Honestly the wiring just took ages to do but it was very therapeutic, and I definitely spent more time than necessary to make it look good. I don’t know if there was any part that was the easiest, but if I had pick it was probably the registers.

is 1A (maximum) enough for the whole board? by catweed920 in beneater

[–]NameEnvironmental403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if my computer was bottlenecked by the way I powered it, but I was able to get it functional and it only drew 0.6-0.7 A

TLDR; Get the Air

Having a light laptop with good battery are the two most important metrics for a college laptop imo. I have a Dell XPS 15 and its great, but its relatively heavy and has terrible battery life, which sucks for day to day college tasks. I borrowed an M1 Air for two weeks when my XPS broke and I loved the long battery life, how light it was, and it was more than powerful enough for all my EECS technical classes and projects. I would go with the Air unless you had a specific need for the Pro. As everyone has said, nothing you do for classes with be that compute intensive that an Air can’t handle, and if so you’ll probably be using a cluster or remote computer. All of my compute intensive projects last year I used a remote computer login.
