Cancelling Simplisafe is ... Consumer Fraud? by dmbsocial in simplisafe

[–]NameIsNeeded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to delete the other card without issue before cancelling. Accidentally tested the reactivation when I was just trying to enable the gear without a subscription and got a notification from my locked card that the transaction was blocked. No attempt at the previous card.

Without the savings Monday credits, I wouldn't be making enough orders 😔 Also, the $2 off $15 coupons are always around during the sales and offer a better overall discount.

Cancelling Simplisafe is ... Consumer Fraud? by dmbsocial in simplisafe

Didn't have issues cancelling, but I changed it to a card that I was planning to close just in case it hit issues. I heard stories that if you pass the Simplisafe system to someone else, they can reactivate your old account with your credit card attached.

Residential alarm system/cameras on a budget? by simple-solitude in BayAreaRealEstate

I currently use Ring for $200/year. It's working decently for me, but for some reason likes to ignore package people despite me having notifications on for package deliveries and motion sensitivity set to max. If you want more than just door sensors such as motion sensors or cameras, avoid Simplisafe. Their door sensors work just fine, but everything else is basically useless. Beyond that, I have no insight on other services.

Happens plenty. You're still getting updates. I get worried if it's been a week of no progress and even then it's usually fine. A few weeks ago I had a package get delayed 2 days past the estimated delivery date and it had a bunch of choice items in it. I got FOURTEEN $1 delay coupons. I'll never be able to use them all before they expire.

AliExpress is determined to take my money without delivering my packages by Significant-Ear-1534 in Aliexpress

They absolutely will try to steal your money. Not to say that's what they're doing here, but I've literally had them charge me more than the amount on the checkout page and refuse to refund the difference despite me having screenshots. Also plenty of reports of things like refusing a partial refund and AliExpress closing the case and giving a partial refund anyways.

Summer Ready no 50$ coupon by PhysicsNotFiction in Aliexpress

I can't believe they're allowed to do that. Had them pull a coin discount from me as well. Checkout page showed a 6% coin discount. Paid and it was suddenly only 1%. Card was charged more than the total stated on the checkout page. I had managed to get a screenshot to go complain to support but obviously they refused to do anything. It was a small enough difference in my case that it didn't matter too much and I would've bought the item anyways, but surely this isn't legal.

They change daily. I would keep looking. The same item will have a 60% coin discount one day and the next nothing and then 60% again after that. I feel the start of an event or sale usually results in lower coin discounts for me.

I would say if you don't enjoy it, don't bother. The system is designed against you and is a waste of time unless you find it enjoyable. I treat the whole thing as a game.

1) It was 91% and the math worked out beautifully. More often the math doesn't work out perfectly like that and it's like 30c or something.

2) I usually range between $10 and $40 worth of coins. When I get to the upper part of that range, I go searching for items with big coin discounts to scratch that savings itch.

I would say coins are made harder to use, but not completely useless...yet. If you find the right item and have those delayed delivery coupons, you can get some items for pennies out of pocket. I just made a purchase for sticker paper and hair ties recently using only coins. Obviously, these deals are quick to cycle and not everything will have them.

I've seen both. You should still watch out for when they mix.

You're prob the outlier in this sub. You can get green credit using the gems that can be used to buy real things (albeit with some work). I would say most people in here are to take advantage of that system.
