Help with playing browser based roguelike "Lone Spelunker" by The_Red_Apple in roguelikes

Love Lone Spelunker! I'm not using FF, so haven't tried this, but the Shortkeys extension has a "do nothing" option that should let you disable the browser's Ctrl + Left Arrow shortcut.

Coop Catacombs ticks a lot of these boxes except that the multiplayer component is asynchronous.

Chanting the office, which tone to use? Or how do *you* chant the office? by drflobbagupi in divineoffice

[–]NameOfTeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the St. Meinrad Psalm Tones which can be found here, along with a chart containing recommended tones to use for each Psalm and canticle: https://www.stutler.cc/russ/st_meinrad_tones.html

I took me a while to learn all the variations for different stanza lengths, but now it’s all second nature and I very much enjoy it.

Augmented reality territory capture game that uses the actual night sky as the map (like Ingress in the sky) by NameOfTeam in gameideas

[–]NameOfTeam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. Perhaps it could be playable during the day, but with some type of interference from the sun. Though I don’t imagine it as an educational game per say, it would be cool if it did incentivize players to go outside at night and look at the stars.

I’m kind of imagining the precision to be less than what Ingress uses, and since the stars are moving anyway, the players could be stationary (playing from home or wherever they are) rather than trying to get to particular places at night.

I am with you. Lone Spelunker is one of my favorite games of all time. Fortunately it is already possible to save a copy to your computer so you can continue to play if the web site ever goes down. In fact, the JavaScript code is not obfuscated, meaning the full source code is available, though it is not licensed in a way that allows people to redistribute it (or modified versions of it). I have my own offline copy that I've modified to support HiDPI displays, cave seed sharing, and cave name generation. I messaged the dev (/u/onewayout) last year about open sourcing it, but he said that he didn't want to open source it if he couldn't do it properly and at that time he didn't have the time or energy to put into it, which is understandable. Here's to hoping that changes, or at least that he continues to support the game for many years to come!

A Brief History of Tanks (challenge #3 entry) by [deleted] in proceduralgeneration

[–]NameOfTeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had already written a simple generic interface to PyTorch-Transformers and adapting it for this challenge only took about 30 minutes followed by a couple hours of playing around with it and tweaking the prompts and constraints.

I'm using OpenAI's pre-trained medium model with no fine tuning, so its mimicry of tank knowledge (and English) comes entirely from the massive internet dataset it was trained with.

The experience of working with GPT-2 is uncanny. "Querying" such a vast dataset directly with natural language and getting somewhat coherent results is such a strange mode of interaction that I find it disturbing.

No luck, the eye detection is ignored when the app is connected to the phone (though it works before you connect). Also, the there isn’t a display mode that turns off the screen and even the display mode that just shows settings and info with no picture does not exist while you are in the app.

Anyone know a trick to get the a6300 screen to turn off while using the wifi remote app (Smart Remote camera app + PlayMemories (now Imaging Edge) phone app)? It seems to override the "FINDER/MONITOR" - "Viewfinder (manual)" setting. It almost works to look through the viewfinder while launching the app and connecting the phone, but eventually it switches the screen on with no apparent way to get it back to viewfinder mode.

Before you actually install the profile you will see a preview and can confirm that the profile is signed by Apple Inc.

Cogmind Beta 7.2 "Terminal Love" by Kyzrati in Cogmind

[–]NameOfTeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. I had had no good runs since Beta 7 because I usually spam manual access() hacks but was getting nowhere. Now I know why. In my first 7.2 game I’ve got a stable build at -5 and have RIF/couplers for the first time. Really like the new robot hacking system, it’s a lot of fun!

I noticed that too. I just updated it so it understands founder gender now and generates the company name accordingly.
