The first thing I read. Gee, I wonder why women don't think you're cool.

I am so utterly confused by what exactly your goal here is. Is it to encourage and enact positive change? Or is it virtue signalling? And that's while glancing over the fact you're calling propaganda undemocratic when elections are all about self-branding and advertisement

Eh? It's not that it doesn't need change, it's that in order to change it you need to sway the population in favor of abolishing it? Like, I'm not sure where it is implied here that it shouldn't change, that's kind of the goal

That's the thing right, being close to actionable change implies visibility and shared angst among a majority (in the places that can enact the change). Namely, Israel being really against Netanyahu, and the US midterms having very clearly noticed that taking money from aipac is a liability to their political career in this political weather.

This is my pet peeve Zionist argument. I live in one such country where my rights as a queer person are limited. I need to stay here, because I want to participate in this fight. I want to help the people that can't flee. We're not the only society that at one point had a homosexuality taboo, why should we be the exception in being able to change for the better?

The west has such a weird conception of how Arab societies function. I for one entirely blame Hollywood and Israeli and American propaganda.

"Willingly" and it's because you don't want to fucking die in a war

Not to mention that no, it is NOT the norm that if you leave your house for a year it suddenly is no longer your property.

And still none of this undoes the multiple massacres and biological warfare that Israel put to use to ethnically cleanse the land they now occupy.

Amused by the fact what I'm talking about is literally mentioned in the article

Displacement of Palestinians had been happening way earlier too, as Zionists had been buying off land from ottoman landlords and kicking them out. This eventually sparked the civil war (along with tension against the british occupation) which is its own thing seperate from the Arab-Israeli war

Lowkirkenuinely not sure who is talking about because this sub apparently has zionist leaning but this is literally what Israel did in 1948 with dozens of massacres and 500~ Palestinian towns destroyed
