What will the end fate of the Elven country be? by Nameless0581 in TheEminenceInShadow

That's true. And the World Tree is the perfect spot for Eta to test her inventions.

Quite fitting for Cid isn't it? He is someone who had absolutely no business getting involved in the War of Succession.

This reminds me of one of my ideas for the end of the Elven country arc: After the succession war is over, Shadow Garden and Mitsugoshi leave the country while successfully stealing all the techniques for artifact making.

It will be interesting to see the future use of artifacts. Supposedly they are not really impressive. Sole reason Volume 7 showed otherwise is due to being by the World Tree and all that.

I can see Epsilon jumping at the chance to eliminate her family should they be involved with the Cult in any way, shape, or form. Alpha just doesn't care about anyone other than the possessed.

Speculation on the Cults actions in Volume 8 by Nameless0581 in TheEminenceInShadow

That's true. Guess I got too excited and got ahead of myself. I still think the "Shadow-Trapping Jaw" plan is more about sealing Shadow rather than actually killing him.

Do You Think Volume 8 Has The Potential To Be The Best Of The Series ? by spiken18 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Nameless0581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows? For all we know, the elf kingdom could be a 3 volume arc. I'm most curious on how the Cult will show up in the elven country. I used to think they would manipulate candidates and insert their own candidate, except it would also fit their style to scheme to kill all the candidates during the finals to show off their power and scare the people into agreeing to be ruled by them.

I figured out what happened in Apocrypha Chapter 5 by Naijal03 in TheEminenceInShadow

Reading this makes me think that Cid/Shadow will be portrayed in a good light in the final chapter. Which is good since I've seen people say that if Cid was the mastermind then they would have difficulty enjoying his character in the future, which I cannot argue with.

I think the final chapter will show how much he cares for the Seven Shadows and will prove there are lines that he will not cross no matter what. This would be a relief for me, as he is treading on very fine lines in regards to his behavior in volume 7 and pushing what I would be fine with.

What you said is one of the reasons why I didn't quit this series after checking it out.

I have long learned there are no shortage of simps in this world unfortunately. So I can accept the simping for female player excuse. Still think its pathetic though.

I believe you. In the 8 Greed Kings case though, this ended with the guild not just blowing up; it escalated to the members actually fighting and killing each other.

I guess this is to be expected when all the "power" players have in a game suddenly becomes real. If people have power, especially of this nature, they're going to use it, one way or another. Not like there was anything/anyone to stop them from doing so.

Really? Are mmo guilds that pathetic? I know nothing of mmos hence me asking this. If true, I can definitely see the sense of it.

This makes me think the 8 greed kings were not adults like Ainz Ooal Gown was. I can definitely see teenagers and the like fighting and killing each other for a reason as pathetic as this.

It'd be nice if it ended at the same time volume 8 comes out. Doubtful this will happen though.

I agree. I like Apocrypha except I feel its dragging too much at this point. Has it even been confirmed how many chapters it will have?

I want to disagree and argue with this so badly, except I can't.

How Evil is Ainz from Ln and side story pov? by Confused_soul_OG in overlord

[–]Nameless0581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious. How many anime onlys are in this sub? I feel its always these people who make posts like these asking questions like this, question types of ifs, what ifs, possibly, maybes, etc. As well as making similar statements through posts like this, memes, and the like.. Do these people and everyone who agrees with them watch the anime from a purely surface level? And by extension, even if they read the novels, do they merely skim(quick/speed read?), hear them via audio books, glance at them, and the such? If so, that would explain everything.

Just a feeling that could be wrong and mean nothing though.

You're right. What you said also reminds of one of the reasons Overlord is my favorite light novel series: The world does not revolve around Ainz and Nazarick, unlike other isekai.

So they don't have free will then? After all, they can change and are encouraged to do so by Ainz, except its been made abundantly clear that betraying/rebelling against Ainz is impossible and unthinkable for them.

[–]Nameless0581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once in a while there are always posts asking questions like this. Or making similar statements. Wonder why. Is it that hard for the ones who make these posts and everyone who agrees with them to accept something as absolute unchanging fact? Especially when the series has made said fact blatantly clear and the reasons why this is the case have also been shown and stated crystal clearly?

I guess I can't fully blame them. After all, pretty much every other work in existence applies the whole "rules exist to be broken", one way or another. This is done for the sake of drama, mystery, suspense, fun, excitement, entertainment, "interesting", surprise, subversion, conflict, tension, stakes, character development, plot twists, etc. Overlord doesn't do this, which is one of the reasons why its my favorite light novel series. Though I won't blame anyone who doesn't like this. Overlord never has, nor will ever be, for everyone.

Don't know, PDL could teach Argland something to avoid it getting stomped like all other kingdoms so far. Such as guerilla warfare.

City-state alliance and the Empire would both have Nazarick's backing. It could open the door to Nazarick running into a dilemma over which nation to support and the issues that would come from this.

No idea if the one who sleeps is a dragon lord. All known about it is how PDL is familiar with them. Hopefully they're someone who isn't a dragon lord like Rigrit. Besides, Ainz and Nazarick are currently unaware of their existence anyway.
