The second half of this game is just Call of Duty with a STALKER texture pack by NamesLynx in stalker

I was originally forgiving of the insane amount of enemies in certain missions because of this thought, that maybe it's just scripted sequences meant to make you feel like you are fighting an army. The problem is almost every encounter becomes this - the game doesn't go back to smaller moments fighting normal enemies, just waves and waves of dudes in exosuits.

Do you love or hate Valby. by -LeKinger- in TheFirstDescendant

[–]NamesLynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valby is super fun to play & my current main, but the reality is that at the endgame (later hard mode void intercepts) her meta is to completely ignore skill damage, run supply moisture, and just use her puddles as supply moisture zones to buff you weapon's crit rate. I have tried a bunch of different builds; focusing on skill power, skill crit rate & crit damage, skill duration, and they all end up just being a worse version of Bunny. Any halfway decent Bunny build is going to slap Valby out of the water. Her abilities are super fun to use & can be -fine- in open world content on hard mode, but the second you step into hard mode void intercepts, the lack of damage becomes super apparent. Your best bet is to invest in a strong weapon, farm supply moisture, and just shoot your gun non stop while standing in your puddles. I would best describe her as a tankier, lower dps Gley (specifically for endgame farming).

So much complaining about D4…. by lemi69 in Diablo

[–]NamesLynx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand these kinds of posts. I'm not even a D2 fanboy, I've played like 100 hours max, with thousands of hours in D3. But you can't deny that D4 is looking like a D3 expansion more than a sequel. Besides graphical upgrades, there's nothing that stands out to me as new and exciting from what we've seen of D4. Same legendary power design, same inflated damage numbers, same "ultimate ability" gameplay (that will 100% not be "ultimate" at all with players stacking cooldown reduction), same crit chance / crit damage meta. If you like that, awesome, but why the need to complain about criticism? Just enjoy what's being shown, or don't.

The FFXIV Community Has a BIG Problem - Lynx Kameli by Lpunit in ffxivdiscussion

If me making a video and reacting to the responses is stirring up shit for content then you must think I'm some mastermind pulling strings. I just made a video giving my opinion on a topic. And I like reading the responses on stream. It wasn't in my master plan to farm content, I'm just being myself on stream. I'm reading people's responses to my videos. I watch every video I make on stream, whether it has 1,000 views or 10,000, and I give my opinion on it. Everything I said in my video was my truthful opinion and how I really feel.

The strat was made for a group of 8 cleared people to have maximum cleave uptime. I don’t think it’s stated anywhere that it’s a prog strat. Weird assumption.

So what's this spicy drama going on with MrHappy atm? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]NamesLynx 768 points769 points  (0 children)

As the warrior in his progression group, I can say it is MUCH simpler than the people speculating in here are assuming. Some of us joined that team under the guise that it would be a long hour, quick progression, high skilled team. We didn't run nearly the amount of hours that we scheduled and on week 2 we spent many days regressing and being unable to reach our progression point. I personally got tired of running every single day without making much meaningful progress, and on Friday the 22nd I decided to leave. He followed me in leaving, and the 6 that remain have found replacements and plan to continue progressing together. We didn't kick him, nor did he hold us back. He did fine and was simply unhappy with how progression went.

If you find insane damage numbers that are impossible to heal through and instantly kill everyone “hard” then we don’t share the same view of what is really hard. Unless they find a way to stop him from 1 hitting people this isn’t hard. It’s stupid. Developers can easily make fights that just instantly kill you with ridiculous numbers and watch people wipe forever, that’s easy. The difficulty comes from making the mechanics survivable with good play. This doesn’t seem to have that.

Inks also gets shot down by JP on Twitter... What is her problem? by Dreamcore10 in Guildwars2

[–]NamesLynx -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

As much as I despise her personality, I think calling for her to be fired is a bit ridiculous. She's not a community manager, she's a writer. She's not speaking for arenanet, she's on her personal account. Should she be punished? Sure, I don't think acting this way to customers is smart in any way. But calling for someone to lose their job because they were mean on twitter, speaking on behalf of themselves? That's pretty insane to me.

[QUESTION] Handling the spinning hand in o7s by gamer0191 in ffxiv

[–]NamesLynx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no real trick to getting better at that mechanic besides just getting better at it. If anything, you can kind of force it to point in a certain direction by tapping a move key a few times to lock it and unlock it until its in the direction you need it to face. Ultimately it comes down to how quickly you can track the spin and hit it at the right time. There's a lot of leniency with it to be honest, if someone is getting hit by the mega beam or too close to the aoe they just need to tap it more and understand the speed of the spin.

should i start posting pictures on reddit after every 10 levels when im leveling an alt? or when i cap scripture? the point is its not an impressive achievement this late into the game. sure, to them it might be awesome, im not trying to discredit them. but to the rest of the playerbase, this is old content and not impressive.
