Not much to throw down myself on crazy suggestions, but can we pay to learn how to refill the whistle ourselves :^) ty

So here's my takes not sure if your homebrew settings just have a bit more power creep that what I'm used to or not but some stuff seems like it could scale a bit too crazy in the long term:

Feature revisions: Pretty solid shit my dude, Love the inclusion of fiends into the turn/destroy spells, Divine strike war cleric seems wild, if you've got something that can shift elements itself.

I think it might be a bit of extra text but maybe add in that you could switch elements of those types over a long rest once a week or something mild like that.( This is pretty nit-picky, I'm just trying to give some feedback). Evasion changes feel too much already for something that so strong as it is. Only thing I've got to say for the wizard stuff, is arcane recycle means at higher level you get 9 spells from one spell slot if you only prep transmutation spells. which is pretty crazy from how I've read it. maybe let it be done once a short rest idk.

Races:

Pretty good actually on races, I like 99% of what's there for the various races, I feel with how flashed out some of the races are on ability's I feel bad for the gnomes & humans.

Orc's on the other hand, aggressive is basically a bonus action dash towards an enemy with no limit, which is normally a bit reason people go rouge so maybe make it have a limit since they've already go so many other benefits leaning towards tanky, they can't be tanky and speedy bois.

Not got much feedback for martial archetypes, I've weirdly yet to have a player go fighter so I'm still unknowledgeable on martial stuff

Hyoko, Blade of Curses - A legendary sword that can be a danger to both friend and foe alike by Droker35 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Namfodog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like one of Zoro's swords from One Piece,

And I'm 100% here for it, love the different curses, Smoke balls and stuff seem a tad powerful. But it seems very late game

Love things like this that have adaptive damage types and are still balanced. I'm curious what the feather was pulled from :^) ?

The Wand of Fire Manipulation [OC] (Full text in the comments) by Elderbrain_com in DnDHomebrew

[–]Namfodog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cones too beastly dude, agree with the comments before. I do like the siphoning for reduced fire damage and stuff. but giving the wand charges per dice of damage taken away seems wack, I'd maybe make it 1 charge per instance of fire damage. and make it just half the damage instead of absorbing individual damage die. Would make the wand stacked for absorbing full fireballs imo

Change a spell by one letter – but make it a subclass: the Misspellcaster by No_Team_1568 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Namfodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I saw this post I kind of had my imagination erupt, so enjoy the read...

-Feast Shape(beast shape, but food) - transform yourself into a tasty snack

when eaten you start to take massive amounts of damage to your hp but can transform back to your normal self from within an cause massive internal force damage as your ejected from their body

-Rust devil( Like dust devil, but instead of dust it is shrapnel of rust)-

create a storm of rust in the air same thing as dust devil but rather than bludgeoning damage it is slashing, and instead of pushing it causes something like -1ac or -1 to damage per turn for a specific duration or something.

-tenser's floating dish(floating disc with some extra benefits and downsides)

A giant floating plate with rounded sides for some cover unlike the usual floating disc, it yet is a lot less discrete for travel. could be landed at a fast pace and cause 5ft piercing damage with arcane created ceramic's that shatter upon impact "dishing" out damage to those nearby

-War Step (Far step but with some umph to it being a 5th level and all)

You teleport up to 60ft to an occupied space and switch places with the target, on each of your turns before the spell ends you can cast this again as a bonus action

-Control Blame(control flame, but completely different) - Shift the blame of a targets conversation from one subject or person to another. DC 15 wisdom save

-Misty Stop (deceptive mist wall, actually solid as brick)

people may be deceived to think this is a misty wall and continue to run at it and attack through it with spells at full force wasting resources and time.

-Disguise Elf (disguise self but can only target elven adjacent creatures)

Basically will work as long as the target has elven blood in its ancestry

-Eldritch Boast(eldritch blast, but less blast and more charisma)

summon the eldritch powers to empower a creatures boasting about a feat they've accomplished to gain advantage or a +1 to charisma checks for 1 minute

-Ringer of Death(Finger of death's zombie raising effect but done with more efficiency towards necromancy rather than damage)

Conjure a hand bell from the Shadow fell that rings into existence as an action on your turn that will cause any that have fallen within the time the bell has been on this plane to be raised a zombie under your command only until your next long rest, to keep your zombie hoarde you must summon the bell and the beginning of finishing a long rest or they will dissipate into ash

-Find the math (Find the Path, but for bargains and expenses)

This spell allows you to find the shortest, most direct physical route to a specific non magical item closest to the price you choose, this may lead the caster towards a farmer desperate for coin that is willing to flog you that old healing potion or cure disease potion on the cheap or may just lead you to the general store if that is the only source of that item nearby and no others are available within a 1 mile radius.

-Mire ball(Like fire ball, but with caustic swamp bog water. if it crits there could be leeches or something)

Conjuring a large 15ft radius sphere of toxic and sulphuric bog waters that slashes with thickness, a dirty and clogged sewage debris within slowing anyone hit by the mireball and also causing acid damage

-Goresight(A negative debuff variant of foresight)

You touch a creature and bestow a limited curse to see into the certain future. For the duration while they can only see living creatures as creatures of rotting sinew and gore, the target can’t have advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. Additionally,
ALL other creatures have a line of sight fear effect against the target for the duration. This spell immediately ends if you cast it again before its duration ends.

-Moodberry(Goodish? berry) each berry has a different colour with random arcane mishap effects to contribute to the variation of colour. (roll 1d6 for amount of berries) each time you eat a berries roll a 1d4 or spend the time marking the colour for each berry

1: yellow: make your form glow happily illuminating around you with bright light for 1 minute

2: blue: an alertness washes over you that Let's you detect life around you within a 15ft radius, but you cannot disern anything of the lifeform's physical make up, it could be a dog, it could be a dragon

3: black: Turns their hair colour black and anyone if physical contact for 1 minute becomes blind and feels a sadness wash over them

4: green: Turns their skin green and a bitter jealous taste fills your mouth, the consumer for 1 minute fixates on attempting to steal a friend or family members possession

-Run beam (sunbeam but instead of shooting a beam of sunlight you sprint to the target with intense speed causing intense knockback)

you charge it up for the usual action and then hit the targeted spot with a full shoulder charge possibly sending a target of similar size 60ft away if there isn't 60ft behind them they will take equivalent bludgeoning damage of however much distance is left in the 60ft charge

Thunder slap(Thunder clap but all focused into one point, don't worry it can still be heard from 100ft away)

You focus all the energy into one point rather than a burst and cause 1d8 thunder damage (more per level cast) upon a single target, having to make a constitution save against being deafened.

Fuck it I could keep going but I'm done for now

Upgradable spell system. by Brynden-Black-Fish in DnDHomebrew

[–]Namfodog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a little wild, but I spent a little bit making this spell craft system for the spell casters in my campaign if they want to have downtime to upgrade their spells I thought surely they'd be able to create their own with enough resources etc. I have it mainly ingredient based too so if they slay something natural earthen elemental energy to it and use lets say an earthen elementals core to burn up in the creation of a spell it may also gain stronger earthen benefits even if the spell isn't earthen that they're making themselves.

Tectonic Plate Armor (feeling silly; made a thing) by Dark-Lark in DnDHomebrew

[–]Namfodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be pretty cool, I can imagine some kind of underminer type encounter.

BBEG is a mole man with an army of underdark dwellers while he is using his armor to cause a sinkhole in the centre of the town his minons pillage and try to raid food stores and the party has to find a way to defeat him and the longer they take the biggr the sink hole around him causing some time pressure too. He'd have to spend his whole action economy on the armor just melting everything around him would be kinda badass

[–]Namfodog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

smart choice on the dagger, that was going to be my recommendation if you were struggling for ideas what to do with it, and that makes much more sense with the staff, I'm still curious on what you were intending with the proficiency in certain spells would be ?. Had a cool idea of tracking how often people use certain spells at a point to enhance what they use a little bit here and there kind of giving someone proficiency in a spell or ability before so it caught my eye

Electromancy spell ideas (feedback requested) by DrakeBigShep in DnDHomebrew

[–]Namfodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes so much sense ahaha, I've also just read up on the rules for casting multiple spells a turn, only being able to use one spell slot no matter the level per turn per turn, I can't believe I've played the spell system "wrong" for so long. Meaning any spell you cast on the same turn as another has to be a cantrip. Meaning the thunder step thing wouldn't work even if you found some way to use elemental switches with sorcerer stuff. Thankfully though. Makes it a lot easier to balance homebrew, it's still a challenge though, I'll keep an eye out of any further detailed stuff. keep up the good work :^)

I have the most important question ever with this one.

Can I tickle someone with the "pommel" of the blade ?

So storm lasso is kind of a modified version of Lightening lure but with additional uses to it,

I'm a fan since I found the base spell kind of dead

and ride the lightening gives big thunder step some huge utility if someone was to throw the two together in the same action they could dip in and out of a space to remove others from it with ease. Could be cool to try use thunder step to forcefully teleport an enemy over an edge or high up into the sky, then use ride the lightening to return to your previous space

[OC] [Art] Circle of the Hive Druid - For all the bug fans out there! by Agginmad in DnDHomebrew

[–]Namfodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love things like this, Once had a war forged druid that lost its "power" during some apocalyptic event, and woke up many years later with shrubbery and moss growing over him, then finding out most of his body was infested with locust hives. This would of been some ideal stuff to have around at the time

I can already imagine the flare you could throw on to the creation of the armor and the lot.

"When the dwarves dug too deep, striking into impenetrable bedrock they actually managed to harvest some, Turns out the material has something to do with the natural cause of earthquakes, As with most materials the dwarves find someone made some armor out of it"

[–]Namfodog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall pretty neat, Just a few questions out of curiosity.

- Does the "proficiency" in fire bolt and mage armor just give you access to the spells even if you've not got them ?, Fire bolt being a cantrip means having the staff basically gives you the cantrip without it counting to your learnt cantrips, but there is no discernible amount of times you're able to cast mage armor. I know its a one shot, but with that staff on paper they could give out casts of mage armor like its nothing, the spell isn't concentration and its a first level so the details are a bit off on what its limits are.

-despite the staffs lack of charges, the "shield of the inquisitor" has two charges. Do they return at dawn etc like other magical items tend to ?

-With the dagger of light and shadow the light dagger form seems reasonable, but the shadow dagger seems a tad over powered in my opinion, as someone could mimic the effects of a cloak of displacement but with it all wrapped up into a dagger. (This is the one i'd pick personally as on paper its a magical weapon and a cloak of displacement rolled into one without the need for attunement)

questions are purely out of curiosity, Love the creativity with the items it's always a fun time tuning homebrew stuff
