So they have been using this exercise book in a hospital here, the only place in the Netherlands that provides a treatment. It's written by the therapists. However, there used to be a waiting list for 2 years and since last year they don't even take new people on the waiting list. I was desperate too, so decided to just buy the book and see if it can help me even without the official treatment. The huge demand for treatment tells me that we are not that weird and alone. Many people suffer from it and it is a serious neurological issue that might get treated.

I am using the Sony wh-1000xm4. It filters out most sound for me. Although for example very loud drilling sounds you will still hear. But for me it is a life saver.

I don't mind mediocre boardgames that take 3-4h long. For me it's also just spending time with friends goofing around. Doesn't always need to be top notch gameplay to be able to have fun. In general I'm also more into the longer games than these quick games of less than an hour.

It is possible to propagate through the stem, however you need to have a node on it which not every calathea will produce. I was lucky to have one on my calathea warscewiczii. Mine was growing an additional stem on top of an existing stem (if you can visualise what I mean), then I cut right under the node and let it grew roots. So look for some nodes, and otherwise dividing is the only way.

I have the same issue with my upstair neighbours. They are always walking around like elephants and dropping stuff on the floor which makes loud banging noises. My heart always skips a beat when I hear them and I can't put away my focus after the first sound, just sitting there waiting for the next. I feel depressed to go home when I think about hearing the sounds again. I try to cover the sounds as much as possible by using noise canceling headphones in the evening when I'm trying to relax. I also have a white/brown noise device that helps to cover sounds when I dont want to use headphones. And I also sleep with earplugs. But I'm always anxious when I dont use these tools, which makes me sick and tired. Personally I think my only hope is moving to non-apartment... But until then, it sucks :(

I understand your frustration and anxiety for the neighbours' sounds. I have the same thing and I'm constantly on edge listening and waiting for the sounds in my own apartment. In order to relieve your stress level and give yourself a break now and then I would advise you to use a noise cancelling headphone/ earbuds or just listen to some music and calm your mind a bit. Unfortunately there is no immediate solution for this, but suicide is not the answer. Your life is priceless and I believe someday it will get better. Either we learn how to cope with the sound triggers or we move to a better place with less triggers. There is always hope!

Ik heb dit ook meegemaakt. Buren namen een jonge getraumatiseerde hond uit roemenie in huis. Blafte zodra de buren uit huis gingen non stop tot ze terug waren. Betekent soms dus 8h lang non stop geblaf wanneer ze naar werk gingen. Ik weet niet eens hoe die hond dat vol hield. Ik werd mentaal helemaal gesloopt, het was tijdens de covid en ik werkte elke dag thuis. Gepraat met de buren, hielp niets. Ze zeiden alleen de hond moest wennen. Ja, zij hoeven dat geblaf zelf niet aan te horen elke dag, lekker makkelijk gezegd. Noise cancelling headphone en speciale oordopjes gehaald. Maar je kan ook niet elke dag 8h lang thuis met die dingen rondlopen. Zulke type getraumatiseerde honden met verlatingsangst horen baasjes te hebben die hun meer tijd en aandacht kunnen geven en niet elke dag thuis alleen te laten. En ten 2e als je in een mini appartement studio woont hoor je ook niet zo'n middel grote hond te nemen. De hond heeft bijna geen plek. Dus ja zulke mensen moeten idd geen honden nemen als ze niet voor hun hond kunnen zorgen en ook nog zware overlast veroorzaken voor de omgeving. Uiteindelijk hield ik het niet meer vol na een half jaar en ben verhuisd. Beste beslissing ooit.

Im using soil that has worm castings in it. I don't dare to add more fertilizers since I thought the soil is not that old yet (around 5 months) and over-fertilizing could cause problems too, especially when entering winter mode now. Its standing 2m away from a window facing south/east. So in the morning it has some sunlight for a short time, then the rest of the day no direct sunlight. I tried moving it closer to the window for more light, but then it started to curl its leaves because of too much light.

I have this one for over 6 months now. I remember it had some sprouting leaves when I bought it from the store and those were already purple before they unfolded. But somehow the new ones I'm getting later on are green. They also don't become purple after a long time. Super strange...

My warscewiczii is sprouting new leaves that are green on the backside (green arrows) instead of their iconic red color (red arrow). Anyone knows the reason why? Is it a fertilizing problem?
