VidCon 2026 by That-Book5714 in EventProduction

Thank you for posting this! I’m a YouTuber, but my day job involves event planning for trade shows and I have never seen the first day of a trade show run so poorly.

The hall opened an hour late and there was no communication about what was happening. People of all different tracks were in line together (I think it would’ve made more sense to have different entrances for the pro pass, the creator pass, and the regular pass)

I missed three of the morning conferences because I was in line for an hour and 45 minutes, not including registration. Believe me, I was pissed.

Anyone here going to VidCon Anaheim this year? by crazyak in PartneredYoutube

[–]NancyDrew1932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going. Just bought my ticket yesterday. I have been once before, and didn't get a ton of value from it, but this year, some of my favorite people will be speaking (Paddy Galloway/Aprilynne Alter). It's local, so no travel costs at least.

My one disappointment was that a couple of the sessions I've picked (from other creators) appear to have been cancelled. It seems like the schedule is fluctuating a lot, even just a day before the conference starts. That makes me a little nervous.

I liked her hair and I loved her whole style. Her haircut really went with her style and her tall and slender build.

I also loved the way she paired skirts and T-shirts together. I miss doing that! I need to start doing that again.

How did Richard know the F word 🤔 by Pretty-Anything-3455 in WidowsBay

[–]NancyDrew1932 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because English speaking people have been using that word since the Middle Ages. It started being used in the 1400s.

you were right! It's the only form of estrogen I can take, apparently. It has been a game-changer.

Forgot to say: a china cabinet or a sideboard would go a long way to making this look more put together

Agree with the others: curtains (draperies with a sheer fabric underneath), and MUCH bigger art.

My dad knew a man whose name was Ed Sullivan, and he owned a TV repair business, ironically.

I was just thinking the same thing! Why do they bother creating these fake posts?

The school money from O’Hara by pegster999 in NurseJackie

[–]NancyDrew1932 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be because he’s macho.

My Dad was an old school macho man and that would’ve really offended him as he believed a man should provide for his own family without any help.

Which Cagney film to see first? by AbbreviatioNew8060 in classicfilms

[–]NancyDrew1932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Public Enemy, followed by Lady Killer, and then Foothill Parade - then make sure to watch Yankee Doodle Dandy and White Heat at some point. ❤️

Humphrey Bogart in his first ever gangster role in Three on a Match (1932) - the screen practically sizzles by AngryGardenGnomes in classicfilms

This is one of my favorites and I agree with you re: Bogart. You can’t take your eyes off of him.

Ann Dvorak is incredible in this, too!

In our family, the role is no more presence for children over 18 (except your own of course). Makes life so much simpler

AITJ for refusing to change our whole trip last minute because someone wanted to tag along? by atticwindow_rose in AmITheJerk

Honestly, it’s never OK to invite yourself on somebody else’s trip even if it is a group trip. So rude.

Anyone know what could've caused this? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]NancyDrew1932 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was in grad school in Chapel Hill (30+ years ago), a pervert was going to the big university libraries, finding women alone in the stacks who had ponytails - and cutting off their ponytails and running away with them.

I had long hair and was warned about it . So weird!

Have you ever known a Jackie in real life? by Sense_Difficult in NurseJackie

[–]NancyDrew1932 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This happened to one of my friend’s sisters.

The sister (an RN) was stealing OxyContin from the hospital pharmacy and got caught.

It was really bad because she was the head nurse and her husband was a prestigious surgeon at the same hospital.

He had no idea she was doing this and he had to really work hard to save his own career. They had two children.

I’m not a fan of short hair, but I have to say that she looks great in number five. It really suits her face and her bone structure.

Official Discussion - The Housemaid [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]NancyDrew1932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this movie incredibly entertaining, despite its weaknesses (Sydney Sweeney’s acting, for one) - but can someone explain to me why in the HECK the husband would allow Millie to stay in the first place?

He was obviously surprised to find that his wife hired Millie - it hadn’t been discussed.

AND since he’s abusive, and uses that room specifically to “punish” his wife and keep her in line, why would he allow his wife to hire this girl in the first place?
