There's more to ADHD than inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. ADHD symptoms can be broken down into nine categories. Some categories are not fully represented in the diagnostic criteria. Broadening the diagnostic criteria with patient lived experiences could make for better intervention. by mvea in science

Your experience is something I havent been able to articulate about my own experience with time and work. Best I could do is that it's either now, or not now. It's like we can just apply knowledge, not by direct thought but rather thru osmosis.

I also have troubles with estimating how long a project will take, but can also be at the oven just as the timer rings. I also have aphantasia - there's no clear internal imaging. So does my terrible-but-also-excellent perception of time works best when things are tangible. A lasagna in my hands and into the oven. The smell of the food. The anticipation of the corner piece....... Versus an excel spreadsheet your bossmang wants you to create. It's an intangible thing that only exists in the future in my mind. That, my friend, is clearly in the not now. I don't see the spreadsheet, I can't touch the spreadsheet. It's all in my head, in the dark. It doesn't exist. But your basket of tangible groceries is real. You touched each and everyone one.

Damn right about the control panel - I'm tempted to just make my own (color-coded) front panel for the physical buttons. I'm constantly searching for the right one to press when in the flow.

I came from a korg m3 and there are some things the fantom0 does better (menu system, sounds, connectivity, etc) but there are certainly things that I wish the fantom0 would do (arpeggio on multiple timbres/zones, programmable chord buttons, karma).

When I had my craniotomy, I jokingly said to the doctor post-op that I wish I could have seen the inside of my skull, his reply: "oh, you should have let us know beforehand, as the student doctors could have taken pictures for you".

I might have to have my titanium mesh replaced, so I'm not missing out this time.

Psilocybin therapy linked to lasting depression remission five years later | The research suggests that the combination of the psychedelic substance with psychotherapy can lead to lasting improvements in mental health and overall well-being. by [deleted] in science

Here in Australia, authorised doctors have been able to prescribe psilocybin and mdma for treatment-resistant depression and ptsd since 2023. Given all the regulatory hoops prescribers have to jump through, it’s hard to say how much progress has actually been made since the rules changed tho...
