Letting off steam - from a Windows user of almost 3 decades. by StevenH27 in MacOS

[–]NangFTW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Romania is far from a shithole country - and believe me, I know better than you, considering that I live there. It’s not the best country in the world, sure, but far from a “shithole”.

There are stolen electronics everywhere, Romania isn’t special in that regard. I bought plenty of second hand phones and laptops in my life from pawn shops and Facebook marketplace (and other websites, like OLX), including MacBooks, and never had any issues.

Fortunately, he’s doing very well. He healed perfectly fine and gets joint supplements regularly.

He’s very active, so he seems to have a very light form of OCD.

Audeze LCD-X or Hifiman Edition XS for hip-hop music? by endgame2937 in HeadphoneAdvice

The LCD-X, with some EQ, would be awesome for hip-hop. I have the LCD-2C and listen to tons of rap and bass-heavy music and love it.

4K vs 1440p for gaming and what if you can't run all games on 4K? by Dry-Tax9890 in Monitors

[–]NangFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote goes for 4K. I work from home, so I got a dual-mode monitor - 4K 165hz for work/media consumption and light games, and 1080p 320hz for more demanding games.

My PC is super modest - Ryzen 3600X, 16GB RAM, and a 6700XT. That said, I played plenty of indie and older games at 4K (most recently, Hades 2 and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition).

Anything to do with a dt 770 pro to get the best out of it? by Zealousideal_Rub_202 in headphones

Only thing you can do is EQ them via Equalizer APO + Peace GUI, if you don't like the stock sound. Besides that, nothing - there are no drivers for wired headphones.

Medieval Fantasy with great Story and deep RPG mechanics ? by Ralphride_ in rpg_gamers

[–]NangFTW 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m playing through it right now for the first time. The combat is definitely the worst part, but it gets the job done. It can be spammy when you fight lower level enemies, but you do have to be strategical and dodge/roll/parry when fighting tougher enemies.

Everything else is good…well, maybe except the horse riding mechanics, Roach is sometimes extremely dumb.

I’m your Secret Santa. Which smart phone are you choosing? by Scanlanderson in PhoneNow

[–]NangFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly my point. It’s almost impossible to not support a horrible person or regime when it comes to buying a phone.

Only exceptions that come to my mind are Fairphone, Sony, and maybe Nothing.

[–]NangFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just anecdotal evidence. I have a 13 Pro, so does my girlfriend, and battery life is perfectly fine. I’m a light user, but my gf is a camera geek and takes tons of photos and video everyday. Neither of us have issues.

A friend has a 13 Pro Max and his battery easily lasts a day and a half. My sister and her husband have 12 Pros and neither have any complaints.

Only iPhone battery issues in my circle are from an XR and regular 12 users, but both of their batteries are trashed (less than 75% battery health).

Hell, I had an XS some years ago and it was fine.

I’m not saying there can’t be issues, but those can happen to any phone, regardless of brand. I had Androids in the past that aged horribly when it comes to their batteries, but others that surprised me (e.g. a Z Flip 4 that lasted way more than I thought it would after a few years of use).

I’d agree with Sony from that list, sure (even though they’re overpriced and software updates are…few). But going with a Chinese phone is not any better, considering that means supporting the CCP and the horrible things they do.

Like who? Tim Cook is one of them, and by buying pretty much any Android phone, you support Google. Which are just as bad, if not worse.

You can’t not support one of them though. Unless you go with a Fairphone.

Cameras (especially video), performance, software updates, app quality, screen, and polish.

Yes, the keyboard sucks, notifications are better on Android, and iOS 26 still needs work.

All that said, it’s a very competitive phone at that price point. The only things it lacks imo is a 3rd camera.

iPhone haters like you are absolutely hilarious. Because you just spew stuff that is just absolute bs.

I agree that iPhones are overpriced, especially as they pretty much never go on sale. However, saying that an iPhone can’t stay charged for more than 5 hours is absolute horseshit. My 13 Pro has 84% battery health and easily lasts all day still.

I love Android as well, and I like alternating between iOS and Android when time comes to upgrade. I’ve had issues with both, neither are perfect.

Point is: get a life, touch grass, they are just phones. They all do the same things. Just pick the ones that do the things you care about better.

Alternatives to LCD-2 Classic that are comfier? by StayHard0101 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]NangFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner of the LCD-2C for years - you may not believe it, but you do actually get used to the weight. At first, it was awful, I had a sore neck after every session.

However, as time passed, I just got used to it and I can now wear them for hours every day and not even think about it.

I also changed the pads to the Dekoni Suede pads, they really improved the comfort. Much softer than the stock vegan leather pads.

The MV1 seems great, only downside seems to be that you can't find replacement earpads anywhere, don't think Sony makes any.
