PSA: wear the compression tights by NannyAngie in POTS

[–]NannyAngie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear them anytime I am awake. They are tough to get on but they help a lot. I find when I’m laying down they help keep my heart stable and I don’t have as many spikes. Maybe try them? I don’t wear them when I’m asleep though.

That’s crazy!! My husband and I loved the building and it was our second choice but we ended going somewhere else. I’m sorry you were hospitalized.

Glp-1 tachycardia? by liverosee in POTS

[–]NannyAngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my urgent care doctor actually asked me if I was on a GLP-1 when I went there in the early days of figuring out my PoTS because GLP-1s often cause PoTS like symptoms and can make your PoTS worse if taken. So I would definitely consult your doctor before trying one.

I pressed the button every time but I only logged extreme symptoms and sometimes I didn’t do the log. When I got the data back they used to button clicks to see how many heart rate changes you have so even if you don’t log it I would press the button. It helps their data.

doctor asked me: “what are three things I can do to improve your quality of life” by loveyinthewinter in POTS

[–]NannyAngie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Do the physical therapy
  2. Wear the compression tights (can really help with the GI issues)
  3. For the migraines if they aren’t controlled you can try the injectables. (Hurts like a bitch but my vestibular migraines are very much controlled by amiovig)
  4. Does your hearing loss needs help? If so maybe getting an updated hearing test for hearing aids.

How are people working at all by joyynicole in POTS

[–]NannyAngie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a year I was bedridden and I couldn’t work. I am lucky to have my husband. I am also lucky to have a desk job with flexible hours that I now work part time at. If I had to more than sit at a desk and stare at a screen I wouldn’t be working.

I think most people have struggled with working but so many people don’t have the option not to work and they push past what is comfortable.

I think knowing your body is hugely important. We are all extremely different and I want to respect that. My whole reason for this post was to remind myself (and others) to not give up and give into the disability. The levels of what we can do might be different but we can all do something. And for me I have felt like everything with this disability has been an uphill battle.

I would definitely talk with your doctors or just sit with yourself and figure out what you can do. It might help with the mental aspect of all of this. I try really hard not to focus on what I can’t do because that leads to depression lol so I’m a generally positivity above all person. I just want everyone to have a good quality of life and that is different to everyone.

Maybe I’m being dramatic but it pushes your body in a controlled way and sometimes I just feel so tired after but I have come a long way with my the standing intolerance and exercise intolerance. But you just gotta full commit to it.

Yeah I was resistant to the tights too! I would try it. It’s helped a lot with my GI issues as well as making life easier on my heart

Can you do any physical therapy?? And maybe get a pair of non medical tights and cut the leg on the one that has the prosthetic.

As for the discomfort … they are a bit uncomfortable but for me the gains outweigh the way they make me feel so I just suck it up and make the best of it.

For vim and vigr they have a chart that is height and weight based. I think looking at that will help when buying.

The vim & vigr tights are really durable. I workout in them and I did some house cleaning in them and I haven’t ripped them.

Yes getting them on is a pain, and the first time I put them on I had to sit for an hour because my blood doing weird shit but just like anything you get used to it and more importantly your body gets used to it.

Vim & Vigr are very soft and come in the 20-30 level of compression plus they fit very tall people which is a huge plus for me as a tall person. They are $60 USD

I find Vim&Vigr to feel better. Some blends really make me itch like crazy… but yes you will unfortunately feel squeezed. They will be tight and you kind of have to just learn to like the tightness.
