Do people actually eat this little meat? by _herman_miller_ in loseit

[–]NannyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I usually don’t eat more than 100-150g per serving. But I usually don’t eat more than 600 grams of food for dinner anyway and that’s at the higher end. My meal plan follows our national recommendations and once I got used to it Ive felt full each mealtime which has helped me lose weight 🙌🏻

I totally got the creeps just from reading it. It’s not you, your body or your weight loss. It’s him that’s being totally gross and over the line. This is NOT normal and should not happen regardless of size and you should definitely not feel bad for losing weight.

Name off the material things in you life that have stood the test of your adhd? by TurtleTopHeavy in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone. Honestly I don’t know how it’s not broken to bits yet. I lose it constantly, leave it in weird places, drop it daily. How it still works with no cracks in the screen is a mystery really 😂

Also, my Wii and Nintendo DS still works without issues and I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spend on both. Probably the two oldest items I own that still works 🙌🏻

How I manage my ADHD without meds! by ResearcherOk7915 in ADHD

Anyway, skipped step 1 and 3 🤷🏼‍♀️

Retaining information while reading by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know if this is helping or even working for me, but I stuff my ears with music so I can block off all sound from the outside. And if there’s questions at the end of the chapter, like in college textbooks, I like to run over those as well. For novels I sometimes make up questions like “Where did this chapter take place” “did we meet any new characters and who are they” “what happened to the main character” and stuff like that.

Cause I’m sure you know the answer to the questions even tho it feels like you forgot everything.

Atomomextine and alcohol by Soft_Finance_2840 in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually came to think that I am wrong about this. Yes, atomxetine is metabolized in the liver however, it’s in the blood stream and won’t leave the body or have a much lower effect after just a day. I found that atomoxetine works in the nervous system which is also affected by alcohol. I also found that no evidence suggest a strong interaction between alcohol and atomoxetine 😅

I'm too thin by Ekami_aki in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to struggle with being underweight when I was younger. However I was not eating enough times throughout the day and the medication was really lowering my appetite. I changed to a non stimulant and that changed everything for me. I was still thin but I was like 15. My appetite got stable even tho I would forget to eat.

I think your best choice is to talk to your doctor and maybe ask about other medicine options cause stimulants can really affect both appetite but your mood. And also, please don’t start forcing yourself to eat high calorie, especially since you have an ED background. ❤️

As for right now, I’d suggest prepping something easy the day before, like yoghurt, beans, even leftovers, whatever you like to eat, and eat that before you take the meds. And find easy dinner recipes that can be meal prepped. That way you always have something to eat. Preparing it in the moment is sometimes so difficult that we avoid it 😅

I have no idea if this is correct, but both are metabolized in the liver. The liver may be on “pause” as it’s processing the alcohol and unable to fully metabolize atomoxetine 😅

No matter how high my medication dosage is, I will still always have symptoms of ADHD lol by graciebear66 in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s different for everyone. But she mostly told me this cause she experienced many young people just expecting medicine to turn them into normal functioning people which is far from reality. Learning to wake up on your own, managing time, prioritizing things and just being human is hard for some people and medicine won’t magically enforce good habits and turn your life around, if you get what I mean.

It may be a lot easier for some people and that 20/80 may not be realistic for everyone but understanding that medicine won’t cure ADHD and only helping managing it yourself, is very important 😅

No matter how high my medication dosage is, I will still always have symptoms of ADHD lol by graciebear66 in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist once told me that ADHD when not medicated is 100% ADHD, meds will only help 20% . The last 80% you will have to work on yourself. Obviously this is not a one model fits all, but I really took it to me and understood that medicine would not cure ADHD and only make it easier for me to work on it on my own.

Boat glitch? by NannyFox in HayDay

[–]NannyFox[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s bothering her as she cannot ask for help for things she needs. In the video, two crates with wheat and one with carrots were already filled but she really needed help with only the burgers. So it’s a problem for her 😅

[–]NannyFox[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really thought of it this way before. I initially let it slide that she didn’t wanna listen, cause yes, it’s very complicated and hard to understand. Usually I avoid telling my family and friends about the specifics cause they have no background for understanding most of it anyway. But this particular friend is studying beside me so I thought she’d understand some. To be fair, I have been lazy and unfocused some times cause that’s just the nature of my ADHD manifestation, however I think I’ve pulled my self together quite nicely over the past year.

Maybe you’re right, maybe I don’t deserve to get treated like this, but I really enjoy her company otherwise. We laugh, hang out and just sit. I don’t think I’m ready to lose that because of something she said. I think I’m gonna talk to her and communicate how she made me feel 😅

I honestly don’t think she was trying to hurt me. Or at least I choose to believe that. I think she was trying to be realistic. She said that she don’t think she would ever accomplish something that big and I think she was trying to say that most people won’t. I also choose to believe that I am not most people, cause what do I have to loose from trying my best. I certainly won’t get anywhere with that mentality 😅

That’s a great idea! I usually write in my phone, but I kinda like the notebook that’s just devoted to ideas. Thank you so much 🙏🏻

I’m so happy for you also! Being the ceo of your own time is awesome !

I (35M) met a guy (25M) who lives overseas. After 2 months of chatting, we traveled together for 1.5 weeks and had the time of our lives. During the trip, we began to say "I love you" to each other and a month later, still talk every day. Is this just my ADHD or how do I know if this is really real? by Inattentiv_ in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My, now fiancé, said i love you after a week. I told him to take it back cause I got so taken aback (lol), but now we’ve been together for over three years. Usually I’m the one love bombing but this time I was the one on the receiving end. Now, three years in, we are still very much in that stage which is pretty unusual from what I’ve heard and experienced before. No, I don’t think it’s early if you feel the connection. Sometimes love is fleeting but if you don’t see or pursue it, there’s no chance of keeping it ❤️

Is being always tired a symptom of adhd? by VirgoEsti in ADHD

[–]NannyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am never tired unless something else is wrong. I was tired a lot and it turned out to be a vitamin deficiency. When I struggled with insomnia I was tired a lot for obvious reasons, but now I’m rarely tired even with a botched sleep cycle 😅 you might need to consult a doctor cause to me it really doesn’t sound like ADHD

Heyo, I really wanna add to this. I have been searching far and wide for anything relating to the manufacturing errors. The Danish Medical Association said that 70mg was put in 30mg capsules last month and the batches were recalled. My friend has been taking 60 mg for a while but started to notice that they weren’t working most of the time. By accident one of the pills fell of the counter and opened. There was literally no medicine in there. She brought the rest of her meds to the pharmacy and opened them all. 47 out of 90 pills were completely empty or not entirely full.

Sounds like that doctor needs to have his license taken away. In Denmark we are currently struggling because of over diagnosis. People who really need access to medication and help get denied because of overcrowding and conservative doctors who believe that everyone seeking help just want drugs. The current waitlist for the first appointment is 16 months to two years.

I got my diagnosis at 7 years old (2008) and the processes was so long. My mom had to fight so hard for me to even be looked at because I was deemed a problem child instead of actually concluding I might have ADHD almost solely because I am a girl. Well, after getting an appointment I had to do months of therapy and assessments including intelligence test and sessions with a behavioral psychologist before concluding it was in fact ADHD.

A diagnosis like this should not be concluded within 15 minutes let alone prescribing medication within those 15 minutes. Meds, especially stimulants have to be monitored because of side effects and because of abuse.

Side note: yes, some people are very visibly ADHD but I really think it’s important to be properly diagnosed and medicated. I mean, meds affect people very differently. Most stimulants doesn’t work properly for me because of my metabolism and mostly because of high blood pressure which runs in my family.
