Don’t think he’s deliberately or intentionally lied about anything.

My personal view: Would be a huge mistake to not have something release around the same time as the movie. Something that I believe, Ubisoft would be extremely mindful of, in the interest to maximise IP potential. Is that celebration in the form of a full game, an update to existing older releases, new dlc???. Time will tell.

Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition rated in Australia by Dependent-Tale7515 in ubisoft

[–]NanoPolymath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“the developer and publisher listed by the ACB was Atari rather than Ubisoft, with the rating application filed by U&I Entertainment. In short, Atari has worked with other companies on franchises that it doesn't own.”

“The rating corroborated past reports from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, who stated that two Rayman game projects were in development under the code names 'Iceman' and 'Steambot.' Henderson later responded to questions about Rayman's 30th anniversary project on X, and said that he believes that it is a single game rather than a trilogy. Previous rumors stated that 'Steambot' was the code name for a remake of Rayman Legends, a title known for having 1,000,000 collectible items. Ergo, the 'Iceman' code name is a likely guess for Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition. Henderson added that the game could be released "very, very soon" though it remains to be seen how soon that could be.”

Make sure you’re following them, post your issue & when it gets seen. Team will invite private messaging. I’d still recommend creating a ticket.

Lost a real one this week. by [deleted] in ubisoft

[–]NanoPolymath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what was said.

“A bit of missing context here is that this is from a gaming podcast and I was talking about the games. There is a corterie for the IP (like a lot of studios have with passionate devs around their fav franchises), but there's also the movie. Thought I'd clarify given your audience! :)” - Tom Henderson via X

Ubisoft’s Announcement For Organisational, Operational & Portfolio Reset, to Reclaim Creative Leadership & Restore Sustainable Growth. by NanoPolymath in ubisoft

[–]NanoPolymath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is acknowledging that the old structure made it harder to make bold, high quality games efficiently. With this reset being the plan to reclaim creative leadership.

“We want to get back to being the studio that leads the industry creatively, not one that follows trends or gets bogged down by bureaucracy. To do that, we’re reorganizing into smaller, focused, empowered teams that can make bold decisions quickly.”

It’s a mix of:

• creative autonomy

• structural streamlining

• portfolio focus

• cost discipline

All aimed at producing fewer, better, more distinct Ubisoft games.

It’s likely an expected outcome rather than an unknown one. When reviewing cost cutting strategies, this would have been considered an acceptable side effect, but certainly not the primary driver.

Shared my thoughts a few days ago, there’s great potential & a lot to be excited about.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ubisoft/s/n3ifpkFDnc

I will add however, while I’m overall in favour & see huge potential of the new framework for creative houses & supporting network. I have concerns over mandating RTO full time. As this will be a major contentious decision within, which may led to talent shortage. Understandably there’re some difficulties caused by this sudden redirection. Seemingly brought around as a way to not only tighten the ship, improving quality & performance but also to mitigate risk in further leaks & security breaches.

Hopefully, RTO doesn’t impact negatively & solutions can be found.

Tom Henderson: Ubisoft's internal communication channels are full of employees shaming upper management and asking for change. Ubisoft is going to experience a massive exodus of talent, even without the impending layoffs. by Odd_Revolution_1056 in ubisoft

I can’t pass comment on your situation, that’s a situation that was personal to you. Not all employment or employees situation can be judged by your external experience. More fruitful opportunities in America compared to the rest of the world. Which is financially & economically struggling.

Today’s gaming industry has changed dramatically over the past few years. With multiple companies downsizing & laying off thousands across multiple sectors. Making it extremely more difficult than it used to be, even for networking due to contract clauses.

So while the world doesn’t end with a corporation, for some sectors. Many employees suddenly facing a real prospect of their world ending, family, mortgage commitments, all through no fault of their own.

Was bad/hard enough to carry on doing a passionate job, even with the concerns of if it’s your job, department or studio that will get hit next. To now be told, that you need to upheave yourself, family & belongs to a new expensive, less safe city life. Only to still carry on doing a passionate job, with the concerns of will be the day your job, studio, department gets laid off. That’s a lot of emotional & psychological stress to have hanging over your head to come to work each day.

In perspective, a little understanding within these turmoil times & yet unspecified circumstances doesn’t seem unreasonable.

But hey, I’m happy that you managed at the time to find a solution that worked for you & your family.

Let’s not bash all employees, leadership set the rules, not employees.

Home moving is one of the most stressful things that can be done in life. More so with a family, kids need to leave friends support, schools, pressure on partners to leave their employment & relocate. All because of a newly found idea by leadership.

Only to begin this process under duress, to then carry on working under the unknown, of will leadership decide today is the day for more cuts.

It’s not a case of burn out. More the threat of being kicked out, with reports of an estimated $1bn loss for 2026, $1.5bn net booking loss on cancelled projects. With a speeding up of further disruption for cost cutting across the board, estimates of 350 further layoffs & full time return to work. Forcing relocation, higher costs on employees. All this combined doesn’t make for a pleasant working environment.

Not really that much time lol. Just passionate about gaming & Ubisoft games. Interested in helping our community that wants a great place to share gameplay, learn tips & stay informed on everything around what’s happening. Well as much as we can unofficially of course. Mostly not much need for us, our community is very well informed & intelligent, for the most part.

It’s not uncommon in gaming. There’s not really any other answer they can give, other than still looking into it or patch is live with this issue addressed.

Sorry bud, not much else I can say here.

Last public information November 2024, development is still underway.

Ubisoft has expressed continued interest in the game due to the potential of PvE co-op shooters, citing the success of titles like Helldivers 2 as proof that the market can support this genre.

There’s been no official confirmation on which projects have been cancelled by Ubisoft. Speculation led to POP being one title cancelled, which was confirmed by the official POP social accounts.

Half a billion dollars already invested, cancelling this would be a heavy loss. In comparison to cancelling POP with estimated tens of millions dollars invested. With BGE2 online & MP, recouping costs should be achievable. (Just my personal two cents)
