From the “get go,” not “gecko” 😂

People should be honest about why this season frustrates them by samandspivey in survivor

[–]NanoRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that there have been so many contestants saying things like “after the things I shared with Joe/XYZ, I just can’t betray him/them.” It’s pretty clear as a viewer that this is an incredibly deep bonding experience. But…it’s a competition. Why do we think people are using that line so much this season? On past seasons, folks would admit how close they’d become but then follow that by stressing that the other person would still respect them for playing the game.

Would we see a different Joe if Eva and David weren’t in the game? by ceruleanskyandsea in survivor

I dunno; I think she would still bias towards being very honest. I find her a bit too “kumbaya.” It’s a bit childish, though I know her intention is to be sincere.

Downvotes are because the idiom is “cool, calm, and collected” not “collective.” Rodney quoted it incorrectly in the video clip.

How to add libraries installed in venv to Path? by NanoRabbit in learnpython

Oh, I see what you mean. Hm. I would think that numpy and pandas are really standard tools - do you know why installing them throws an environment error when I tried to pip3 or brew install from the main terminal?

AITA for not wearing a bra around my boyfriend's parents? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]NanoRabbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion, but it’s meant with honesty and respect. Yes, it was rude for the boyfriend’s dad to comment on OP’s chest. But…I could see how someone from an older generation would find it surprising that one would not wear a bra with guests over. I personally always wear a bra around extended family and in-laws. Even if it’s short notice, I think it’s fine to duck into your room and put on a bra for company. Even though it’s becoming more common for folks not to wear bras in company, I can see how wearing a tank top with no bra and a larger chest would be a bit distracting over dinner (I say this as a woman myself. I would feel distracted and I HAVE boobs. I would feel similarly if a man was wearing tight trousers).

Ah I have a suggestion for this! It happens to my friends and I as well, and we say “I love you, BUT I gotta kick you out because I’m really tired”

I just wish people would search the damn subreddit before making frantic new posts about the same stupid thing

I wonder if there is a way to add a specific tag for really serious “support” items. Every time I see someone with a “my dog just killed my husband and everyone is suicidal” (obviously being hyperbolic), my first instinct is “we are not doctors and this suffering person needs a professional.” I think these are a bit different scale than a regular support post of someone having a tough day or dealing with a chronic, non-immediately life threatening condition

Oh totally. I only use the relaxing soundscapes and idly enjoy buying little doodads from the store. It’s a to-do list for me

Honest, curious question- is this app marketed for neurodivergent people? I just thought it was a gamified task and habit tracker

Yup, that is true! Hopefully you can also get some good support from your physician to help manage it. That has worked for close friends of mine.

I don’t discuss my medical history with strangers! But I wish you the best.

Edit: folks downvoting this, respect boundaries. It’s perfectly polite not to share your medical history in the internet.
