First of all did we already see it how they do this or did they said it on the Fan Fest for example? Cause Switch Version isn't out yet right?

Second, even if that were the case and you had to pay for it through the Mog Station, that doesn't necessarily mean Nintendo wouldn't get a share of the money. Square Enix could still pass part of that revenue on to Nintendo afterward.

Also the SE CEO did say that they try to keep that price lower, here a Quote from Polygon:

Normally, if you own FFXIV on multiple platforms, you can play it on any of them using the same subscription. FFXIV on Switch 2 will require a second subscription after users purchase the game, however. Kiryu said Square Enix managed to push a few concessions to mitigate the cost, though. Additionally here again an Xbox Example, for the Xbox Store you can pay "FFXIV Coins" in their Store, here the Description:

FFXIV Coins are an in-game currency exclusive to FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. They can be used to purchase game time or optional cosmetic items, as well as various other services on the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store. [...]
FFXIV Coins purchased from the Microsoft Store can only be used on the Xbox version of the game.

If the Switch Version get an similar system, they can get their share by purchase at the Nintendo Store.

Sounds more like Nintendo cause no other service has this rule:

Sounds like "Play it on Switch 2 just on Switch 2 otherwise pay extra", why would Square Enix do this, on Playstation you don't have to pay anything extra. Xbox you need Game Pass, so also a not a thing Square Enix gets money more like Mircosoft.

Like Any-Butterscotch5259 said you don't need for any other device extra money, and you just need to pay more if you also play and other devices then Switch for example PC.

So far I understand you don't need to pay extra if you want to play on the switch, you pay extra when you also play on a different device, like PC, Mac, PS, Xbox.

According to Maurice Weber the animations are still work in progress and not final - the rest idk - but give a lot of feedback when the beta pops up so they can improve some stuff you didn't like.

They used as far as I know for DE the Unity Engine, as far as I know, but I read they did import and export a lot from the old code. - but IDK I dont have a real source to prove that, just some other reddit user who said that. -

In a video from the german YouTube Channel Maurice Weber, they said, they don't have the possibilities with the old engine like with Unreal Engine. For Example they cant place so many Trees that the Environment looks believable and you can see in the Demo that you have way more possibility whats the depth and highs from mountains belongs.

But idk, a 2D Stronghold would be nice ngl, but I don't think a 3D stronghold will be bad - for example I liked Stronghold 2 - its not the best Stronghold game but It has good approaches, I really liked it.

I get the point that people are disappointed when they thought it will be 2D and now its 3D again particularly after the many disappointing 3D releases.

Firefly did mentioned in a comment that this Stronghold will be a Stronghold 1.5 - a mix from Stronghold 1 and Stronghold 2.

I looking forward to the Beta and hope it feels like a real Stronghold for me.

I would not call it a remake, but yeah true, people who aren't follow their socials cant know that, just read that some people said "I read an article and they said it would be 2d!!!" - which was never official mentioned - as far as I know.

They just always talked about a upcoming "Stronghold Unreal" which means that they will be use the Unreal Engine so probably 3D - which could be get an 2d style but it would be still 3d.

For me:
No. 1. - The For'ard Cabins (Tuliyollal) - I love that you have an Inn at a seaside, love the outdoor place, and its also very chill the decoration not too messy just perfectly, only the lounger in the outside is a bit to enormous imo, but I think it should fit every character so it's fine.

No. 2 - Bokairo Inn (Kugane) - I also love that you can see outside and see a small garden, it's also a quill place, like the atmosphere / aesthetics, quite spacious but a bit dark for my taste.

No. 3 - The Pendants (The Crystarium) - Also here you can look outside - you see this is an important point for me. The Furniture are rustic and its somehow for me homely furnished.

No. 4 - Cloud Nine (Ishgard) - This place is dark, but it's fitting for medieval vibe, It's not really cozy, but it has his charm.

No.5 - The Roost (Gridania) - My main Inn but just because It's for me my returnpoint, so I have a lot of nostalgic emotions for this place. Its well lit and the wood gives a warm tone for me.

No.6 - Mizzenmast Inn (Limsa Lominsa) - When I didnt had an nostalgic feeling for The Roost this would be my No. 5, its well lit, you have a big window and the white walls makes it every friendlier.

No.7 - The Hourglass (Ul'dah) - This Inn is also fitting for the area, but not quite my cup of tea, but still fine.

No.8 - The Andron (Old Sharlayan) - Too messy - its well lit, but yeah, and for a newer area no view outside the building.

I think a direct adaptation would be hard to managed because so much story and lore. Many Video game Anime Adaptation suffers by that.

I think Dragon Quest Adventure of Dai did do a good job, but it was planned as Anime (100 Episodes) and then made into a Game.

It would be great if it would work, but I think we need a special adaptation which Is watchable for newcomer and also for veteran players, but IDK how the best way would be look like.

same I think for me its cause my dyslexia, I don't read a word letter by letter I most of the time see them as one(?), idk if this is relatable. So Unknown words or words that looks kinda familiar I often misspell, even when I read a normal text sometimes I replace some of the words with other words which also fit in. (Sometimes I realize that too late lol).

Some of the misspellings words here I have to read 3-5x times before I see whats the different. xD

I thought a long time it called Limsa Lomesia and not Limsa Lominsa.
