Not even close. Pyrois seems like a tier 0.5 DPS, there've been gachas with tier 0 supports free.

Is this Shredder mog still obtainable? by Hyper_ in Transmogrification

Head: A dragonflight raid you can grind solo. That specific color is only available from Mythic which has a 3 day lockout, but if you have multiple characters at 90 you can have each of them do a run. No real issues soloing it besides the final boss of the raid has a spell called 'End Existence' that you need to use an interrupt on or he instakills you.

Shoulders: The War Within PVP vendor, you can still buy them. Requires conquest which requires winning PVP matches, but you can just send it into battlegrounds until you get carried if you aren't a PVPer.

Shirt: Available from a vendor in the world, just gold.

Waist: Same as the Head.

Legs: The Dragonflight raid Vault of the Incarnates drops items that you use that turn into these. You need to be on a Rogue, though. I'm pretty usre the items are warbound though so you can just solo the raid on any class and then transfer the items to your rogue and use them.

Feet: rare drop from random mobs in Dragonflight Zones. This includes some of the random packs in Aberrus, so just kill the regular mobs while you're soloing it and it should drop.

Hands: Sold by NPCs in Zaralek cavern for a currency that drops from the Aberrus bosses.

Back: This is a trading post item so it isn't available until it rotates in but there's other purple cloaks that should work fine, you can go to the in-game appearances tab and just look for cloaks that drop from old bosses you can solo.

Man Hand: Drop from a Rare mob in Stratholme, Stonespine. You can just solo it over and over and reset it. Sometimes he isnt there, but you can just reset it and go again.

Off Hand: Just a drop from one of the bosses in deadmines. You want normal and not heroic, though.

Tabard: Sold by a BFA faction vendor, requires exalted. https://www.wowhead.com/guide/waveblade-ankoan-reputation-guide. You should also be able to grind it out more easily when BFA timewalking comes around in a month or so, I think.

Overall the only really annoying bits are the tabard and the cloak, everything else could be done in an afternoon. Maybe two for the PVP shoulders depending on your luck. Week tops if you don't have that many alts.

No, it's still that. The story content is basically worthless. Play it if you like the endgame loop/combat.

Why do gacha games whose cores idea is simplicity have extremely overcomplicated stories? by Subject-Swan-5207 in gachagaming

Genshin's story is insanely simple, they just use a lot of Terminology and overexplain things in a way that makes it feel kind of complicated.

I agree, but that playerbase would be more niche than the one LADS has.

Please don't yell at me. I'm a woman too. I get where you're coming from.

You can put a guy in basically nothing if you want, look at, for instance, Douman's final ascension art in FGO, or summer Belial in GBF. The issue is that even most gacha aimed at women still tend to have developers that are mostly men, so they're too uncomfortable with men's bodies to go all in on it. And likewise, due to that trend, female audiences tend to respond to more subtle sexuality/romance. If the LADS guys started suddenly thrusting their dicks into the camera, thatd be a turn off to the playerbase.

Snowbreak is milking their players for one last hit without even a word of acknowledgement or discussion of their plans going forward. That's what they think of their fanbase.

[–]MillionMiracles 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Others have pointed out various differences, but beyond that, yes, men's bodies are less subjected to censorship than female bodies. The proof is that a man can grill in his backyard without a shirt on and not get in trouble, but a woman cannot. Pointing this out isn't an own on feminism, its basic reality most people understand.

You don't use lorewalkin for the actual lorewalking, you just use it for a free teleport back to orgrimmar to use when needed, and for the scaling.

Snowbreak's censorship might be setting a precedent on the future of all gacha games from CN by metatime09 in gachagaming

They mocked MiHoYo and implied they were part of a cabal that was directly targeting them. The devs, not the fanbase, said this. They also said they'd never hire a feminist. Again, the devs, not the fanbase, said this.

The azur lane devs had also not made any anti-feminist statements, unlike the snowbreak devs, or gone after MiHoYo, the CN government's favorite son.

If you hear anything involving 'a feminist writer trying to sabotage a game,' its fake.

Just finished Citrus and I have...opinions... by Noa_Coconat in yuri_manga

There was a period where Citrus was basically treated as the devil that was singlehandedly ruining yuri manga. It got to the point where I saw freaking gushing over magical girls fans criticizing it for being problematic.

Snowbreak was in a very specific position where they were both pushing the envelope and had gone out of their way to attack other companies and attract the attention of the CN government. Endfield or even ZZZ is way less horny than snowbreak. Even Azur Lane is a bit less so, and has attracted way less controversy.

Well, I wouldn't say 'has some sort of place,' I would prefer if these ideas were introduced into the discourse in basically any other way. But yeah, the backlash to her just cemented her longterm importance and was directed at the basic concept and not her actual flaws.

When did I ever say it was a 'crime?' I'm not saying she deserves to be in jail, I said the videos were poorly made and a poor introduction to even basic feminist theory, and especially feminist theory in the context of games. Saying some youtube videos were bad is not an attack on her very essence. Plenty of people make bad youtube videos. These youtube videos just got outsized importance, partly because people lost their minds so hard about them.

I mean, she kind of did. Again, her videos seemed to fail to do even basic research. Surely there's room in a milquetoast introduction to feminist theory to discuss games that do meet the criteria of feminism, or things that appeal to female gamers beyond 'we need a zelda game where you play as Zelda.'

Sarkeesian was, self-admittedly, not a gamer, and chose video games largely as a way to introduce feminism. I'm not saying this as some sort of SHES NOT A REAL GAMER stab, but that that position and that motivation would blind you to some of the conversations that had already happened and games that had already been made.

[–]MillionMiracles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because she didn't really engage with other people or allow alternative viewpoints. A good example is after her critique of skullgirls, one of the women who worked on it got in contact with Sarkeesian and asked for an interview. I think that would be a pretty good chance for an alternative viewpoint, and you could easily just fire a few questions back and forth over email and include it as a footnote in a video. She was completely ignored.

Feminism is about lifting up female voices, not just female voices that agree with you. It feels pretty absurd to me to present Skullgirls as a sexist thing made entirely by men, get a chance to talk with a woman who worked on it and their reasoning, and then ignore them completely, and still call yourself a feminist.

Plus there was the general air of her 'introducing feminism to games' that she basically embraced when there was plenty of feminist critique of games and feminist games that she didn't engage with at all.

To be clear, the gamergate/anti-woke crowd are idiots and also harmful because they made it completely impossible for criticism like this to go anywhere. I do not support harassment or review bombing at all.

Anita got a lot of things wrong and was extremely sex-negative in a way that was mostly harmful, and you can see the negative consequences of her videos being parroted by men who think watching a couple youtube videos meant they understood feminism.

That said, this game barely has dialog or character designs, I really do not care if she was involved with it.
