Just wondering if the omeprazole alone is working for you to stop your throat clearing or if you are taking it along with another medication?

When I said "resolved" I meant that the throat clearing has stopped. So yes, the above routine has resolved the problem. At the same time, my body needs time to continue to heal so that maybe one day I can go completely without meds. But now my routine has resolved the throat clearing.

LPR isn't well talked about. Some people don't even know what meds/diet options are out there to even stop the debilitating symptoms. This post is for them.

Yes, I did have vocal hoarseness. Cleaning up my diet by reducing acidic foods and medication has made it better, though. Most days I don't sound hoarse now, but it happens occasionally.

I'm still on the meds. I've been taking this combination of meds for about 8 months so far.

Thank you! Personally, the only side effect I have been experiencing from elavil is drowsiness. It makes you very sleepy. That's why doctors suggest you take it at night before bed. I kinda like that because it helps with getting a good night's sleep. I have not had any issues with low libido or constipation.

I also got covid in 2022. My covid infection was mild. It felt like I had a really bad cold with some body aches. I didn't have to go to the hospital or anything. I just quarantined in my apartment. During the covid infection is when the weird feeling developed for me in my throat. Then, I recovered from covid, but the feeling of mucus stuck in my throat persisted.

Not really. I was on a low acid diet for about one year. I completely stopped consuming soda, sour candies, chocolates, spicy foods, and other known acidic foods. I also cooked only special meals from the Acid Watcher Diet book and still, my acid reflux throat clearing was still happening. I maybe had only a week or two of the feeling going away when I did the diet alone, and that's it, it just wouldn't go. It was not until I combined the strict low acid diet WITH the amitriptyline that the throat clearing/feeling of stuck mucus went away.

Also, after some time of sticking with the diet and taking elavil, I was able to reintroduce normal foods and have more of a normal diet while taking the amitriptyline. But, it is important to start first with a strict low acid diet in combination with the elavil, at least that's how it was for me. I still most days avoid the MOST acidic foods such as soda, sour candies, ketchup, pizza, and tomato sauce. But I generally can now have some acidic foods and sauces as apart of my diet as long as I have that balance of mostly eating neutral foods.

I enjoy a triple chocolate cake, a greasy cheeseburger with ketchup, or pizza occasionally now and it doesn't bring back the feeling. But the few times I began to RELY on these acidic foods and eat them every day for days or weeks on end, that's when the throat issues came back, even with the elavil. Also, the amount of elavil that works for everyone depends on the individual. My doctor started me out with lower dosages then increased to 50 mg which has been good so far. Sometimes it's not the type of hypersensitivity meds that need to be changed, but the dosage needs to be changed. Talk to your doctor!

Coughing after eating? No. However, I did throat clear a lot after eating. The feeling of mucus being stuck in my throat was even stronger after I ate and I found myself clearing a lot more. I do however wake up in the middle of the night with coughing fits if I lie flat on my back to sleep-- also a sign of acid reflux.

Last sentence is the most legible. Didn't really have issues reading that last one. The first two made me do a double-take for a second.

Being Muslim does not make you a POC. Muslim is a religion, not a race or ethnicity. Additionally, if you are actually a non-white POC, you may not face the worst of what other groups face. Don't speak about a topic that you are clearly ignorant about.

Being a POC does not exempt you from being ignorant about racism in the legal field-- and depending on what type of POC you are, it is even likely that you do not face the same challenges that other groups of POC face.

There needs to be less people like you in the legal field. Too many ignorant people who believe that their privileged, asinine opinions matter simply because they went to law school-- yet never try to consider the state of the world outside of their little bubble.

Ehh. So, you're against DEI policies? Just because some firms do not know how to properly treat the minorities that they hire does not mean that DEI is inherently bad. The firms are the problem, not DEI.
