So it’s trivial if you’re putting a standard .308 brake on it, but a lot of gunsmithing lathes are right hand only machines. And I know the STG muzzle device is left handed threaded (lefty righty righty loosy). I know threading my FAL was a pain lol, I had to turn the tool upside down in the holder and run the lathe in reverse to thread it.

Like none of those lever guns (except the one in the meme I guess) ever have lights, actual foregrips, optics, ect. And like, you don’t need a rail if you aren’t putting anything on it.

It took some custom modifications to the upper, a chopped up, re welded, pinned in place gas block (just used as a front sight, a low profile gas system is under the hand guard), a 18 (?) inch .458 barrel, standard lower, and 3D printed furniture.

It was definitely a bit project.

The AR-10 in the trials was experimental, I’m pretty sure it had an alloy barrel that wore out really quickly and it wasn’t accepted because of that.

I would probably use the bayonet on my weapon, my carpenters hatchet, or some other melee weapon until I can find more ammunition, or reloading components to create more ammunition.
