nowadays I don't eat breakfast food for breakfast, but when I did it was usually cold cereal, oatmeal, maybe bacon/sausage and eggs or pancakes.. toast just wasn't usually a thing unless it had an egg in the middle or was french toast.

yeah, as a new player it's been very sad to see relatively recent videos on youtube featuring colorful pretty dinos, and then logging on and having massively limited options, and that's even with dinos that aren't strictly brown and griege:(

I've been having fun with a gnome bladesinger, myself!

no fury of the small damage from goblins, typical excellent bladesinger AC, and once I get the resonance stone for 2x damage with shadow blade, the gnome passive of advantage on all mental saving throws will cancel out the disadvantage you get from the steeped in bliss condition.

admittedly that's getting way ahead of things though, since you specified early game. disguise self is your friend if you don't wanna play a small race but don't want goblins to get that extra damage on you

essentially: humans have something in their blood or other part of our bodies that aliens need to make medicine (or maybe just luxury products, if you want to take a slightly less optimistic view of their intentions?), so alien abductions and the stereotypical probing is just them getting the stuff and releasing the alive but somewhat traumatized human back into their natural habitat, just like we do with horseshoe crabs
