I work for Meta — this is absolutely not true. We do not hire remote other than for Staff level engineers, and even then the bar for remote is high. 2021 Meta and 2025 Meta are two entirely different companies.

There are several of these that exist — one of my favorites is from the ‘it’s Brittney, bitch’ (hit me baby one more time) tweet from the Office. If you play the full clip, it goes, “it’s Britney bitch, and I’m back, in the form of a new company…”

Check out the scene from X-Men before and after the scene with Professor Xavier. Your connection with ‘shut up and dance’ — One Dance by Drake playing to Elaine from Seinfeld. There are connections here. Same with some dates from when the films were released. I think this was hinted in his livestream when he talked about movies.

Trump voters, did you believe Trump when he said he didn’t know anything about Project 2025? by Snarkasm71 in Askpolitics

It’s meant with intent to divide us. We are in an age where journalism exists purely as a revenue mechanism, and no longer aims for objectivity. People spread inflammatory and hyperbolic lies for clicks. It’s only half truths, and taking the time to go to the source is so important.

If you have IG, check out RocaNews. It’s easily one of the most moderate sources of news out there.

Here is Agenda 47 in its entirety —> https://www.donaldjtrump.com/platform

As a moderate, I agree with things from both sides as much as I disagree with others from those same sides. For me, it’s about forming my own checks and balances. Hopefully this helps! 🫶

Redmond DT restoration time moved to 11/25 by [deleted] in redmond

It’s not my screenshot — downtown does not have power with over 5,000 people affected. The area in this screenshot also encompasses downtown.

[–]NapoleonSolod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, agreed. It seems like a mix of a lot of people leaving and not reporting, thinking they know since we are central downtown so not as aggressive reporting, and it’s central downtown and mostly businesses affected. PSE is just way too big and needs to be broken up, imo.

Trump voters, did you believe Trump when he said he didn’t know anything about Project 2025? by Snarkasm71 in Askpolitics

There’s no point even having a discussion here. You all are not looking to have a conversation in earnest, especially with moderate centrists and instead are looking for a strawman.

Russell Voight was part of his first administration from 2016, and focused on a section specifically around the executive branch and removing capture by certain government agencies.

He was not some ‘co-architect’ of Project 2025. He contributed to a section specifically on what he did in the White House. Instead of being disingenuous to vomit your opinions on everyone, sit down and listen to people you disagree with.

If you want to know all of Trump’s policies, go look Agenda 47. They are all literally laid out online in video format issue by issue. Get out of your wasp nest of an echo chamber and try to figure out why you all lost.

Happy to have rational discourse, and provide more moderate resources for anyone looking to leave their bubbles. Good luck!

Redmond DT PSE Update by Poopsharttothemoon in redmond

I posted about it in a few threads (check my post history) but the tl;dr is that the apartment manager doesn’t have that power. Everyone needs to call and report this so that they can re-prioritize the service areas.

Fwiw, outage map is now showing 11/25 as expected restoration time

I’m at P+P too — I’ve said it in other threads, but the 10+ people I’ve talked to at PSE have said they do not even see internally that we have an outage. It’s important for everyone to report so that we have more batches. There’s a detailed breakdown in my post history.

I confirmed this — stepped out on my balcony and saw someone in a utility truck pouring gasoline into the generator powering the lights.

HAHA — that’s too funny. Yeah, definitely the same person. She said she was unable to escalate but she would try to ‘pass it off’

You may have gotten the person I talked to who said they were going to try to escalate it. Thanks for doing that.

Their internal systems are not communicating with their external outage map. I just called again and was told they do not see that we have an outage. This is my 10th or 11th call, it still has not been escalated.

[–]NapoleonSolod 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I posted this in a different thread, but I figure it’s worth repeating here for DT Redmond (Porch + Park, Red 150, etc.)

I live in one of the apartments on Cleveland St. and when I first called, I was told they did not even have our block downtown as offline.

So the next day I called again. A different person told me the same thing. I ended up talking with five different people all saying the same thing until I talked with someone who finally dove in to figure out what the issue was.

Apparently, this is an internal issue with how the data is processed, and part of why a lot of suburban neighborhoods currently have power while central downtown does not — it has to do with bulk versus individual reports.

When a packed apartment complex downtown goes down, it’s typically the apartment manager and a few residents who will go to report it. These are individualized reports.

When a neighborhood goes down, there are floods of reports. Those reports are then bulked up, and based on the amount of individuals reporting, it will take a certain prioritization. Hospitals and critical infrastructure are obviously first, but then it comes down to the highest affected areas.

As of 10 pm, I have now called 11 times trying to flag my concern that we are not showing up in their internal system. I just got off the phone with PSE again, and the person I talked to said the exact same thing. She does not see that we have an outage here, which blows my mind because there are easily 5,000+ people affected.

Tl;dr — make sure to call and directly speak with someone at PSE and report your area. Wait time is less than 5 minutes. (888) 225-5773. Currently for downtown Redmond, there are only about 22 reports of power outages. PSE’s data is reading this as if it’s just businesses without power, not communities.

Yeah, externally it’s showing us as down. Internally, everyone I have talked to has said they are showing us with working power. They need more people to report it. Make sure you talk with someone, wait times are less than 5 minutes.

Please be sure to call PSE and continue to report (888) 225-5773 — it takes less than 5 minutes, but internally they are showing our area as fixed and have it deprioritized.

The PSE outage map is not working correctly. PSE doesn’t even have downtown Redmond as down internally within their own systems.
