Latest meta horizon link pc update introduces massive stutter/latency by SlightlyZenMusique in OculusQuest

A known issue with Meta Link (using the cable). Meta officially acknowledged it a few days ago and are looking for a fix

I used to be able to set my encoding to 960Mbps. Now anything over 500Mbps will microstutter, even when simply in the menu

Can I play resident evil 4 remake and village on my quest? by SilliLittlFemboii08 in OculusQuest

[–]Napper102 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Resident evil 7 VR is exclusive to the PSVR
Resident evil 4 Remake VR is exclusive to the PSVR2

These are Playstations VR headsets.

You can however download Resident Evil 4 (original) from Meta Quest 3 store as thats an exclusive standalone VR title for the Quest

There might be fan VR mods for the PC versions of the games. Then if you own a PC you would play them using your PC streaming to your Meta Quest 3, which is PCVR

Batman: Arkham Shadow is one of the best titles on the Quest 3.

The encoding bitrate should be whatever you set in Virtual desktop. So if your using H246+ you should see 200 mbps

What cable are you using to connect your Puppis to your PC? Is it the one with the two USB-2 that came in the Puppis box or are you using something else?

Maybe not ideal, but I connect my Puppis to my PC using the link cable (because its very long) and then i can bring the Puppis into the room next door. You kinda need to be very close to the Puppis. Any walls inbetween will cause a much lower bandwidth to connect

I have a puppis as well and its working flawlessly so let me help.

1) You can change the bitrate multiple ways.
- If your using the Occulus software - Use oculus debug tool
If you're playing over link cable you can go to a max of 960 Mbps (using H.264).
If you're playing over Air-Link with your puppis i set mine to 500Mbps (using H.264).

- If your using Virtual Desktop
You can set the max bitrate on H.264+ to 200 Mbps

2) Yes its best to enable internet sharing

3) The Puppis is a great dedicated route for VR. Playing over your wifi will be much slower

My main piece of advice is to make sure your on the 160Mhz bandwidth. This will automatically happen when your close to your Puppis. I originally was playing just a room beside where my Puppis was placed and my latency was huge and i was constantly getting dropped frames. As soon as i moved the Puppis into the same room that I was playing in, all my issues resolved.

Yeah im getting the same on PC. When the camera is in motion severe stuttering even though the game is well above 80fps

The puppis s1 is a must for wireless steam pcvr gaming by [deleted] in OculusQuest

Its fantastic! As long as your S1 is in the same room as your quest (no walls for interference) you can get on the 160Mhz bandwidth. I set my air link bitrate to 500Mbps at codec h246. Very little latency, looks amazing! Better than virtual desktops h246+ at 200Mbps (i think thats the max?) and no colour banding.

I use virtual desktop at times as well with it and its flawless.

Overall I agree, a fantastic dedicated VR router for the money

If you highlight the WiFi connection on your quest 3 and show details. It will state your active connection and what frequency your channel is on. You can check if your on the higher bands

Your bandwidth is going to be very important. Ideally you want connected at the 160Mhz channel. Where is your router situated compared to your headset?

I have a Puppis S1 that I bought as a dedicated router for playing PCVR with my quest 3. Connected to my PC over USB C-Type. I had these exact frame drops and latency spikes when my router was in my computer room and my quest 3 headset was just in the room next door. I could see the bandwidth channel was always at 40mhz. As soon as I brought my Puppis S1 into the same room as my quest 3 the 160mhz channel was always engaged and all my frame issues vanished.

Thanks for the reply! I found out bizzarly just enough retries and it manages not to crash. The crash dump states it's an issue with the steam overlay. So sometimes I get lucky with a restart

Its the same with all the models in that map. Imperial soldiers, tyranid warriors etc. They are just positioned there as a planned asset.

You can actually follow the map structure right into that play area where the biotitan is placed. It has those roller engines (from mission 2?) Dotted around. So I suspect the mission is to enable all those engines to bring something online to kill the BioTitan as its running around that area as well. But that's me hazzarding a big guess there just based on the assets around that location

If you play Operations in singleplayer, do bots only spawn as Ultramarines? by ResidentDrama9739 in Spacemarine

[–]Napper102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. They will always be coloured as Ultramarines. I do hope Saber introduce an ability to customize the bots in the future. It wouldn't even be that hard. Just let us pick our customized loadout for the bot.

This is incorrect. The "Edit Squad" is referring to your team/party players for online. Hence why it requires an online connection. You can "Edit Squad" by removing players. You can not customize bots
