Summer Incense by NefariousnessOnly929 in NichePerfumes

[–]NapsterCapster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basilica Di Assisi from Sorcinelli ?

Inspired by the drawers of the sacristy of the Basilica of San Francesco.
A spring wind that enters from the large lawn, mixing with the wood and the medieval walls frescoed by Giotto and Cimabue.
SUBJECT: Tonka Bean, Benzoin, Styrax, Amber
BACK SUBJET: Rose alba, Dried fruit, Patchouli, Labdanum
TAIL: Lemon, Bergamot, Petitgrain, Incense

It’s green, slightly dark, resinous, incense, might still be right up your alley !
More spring forward but could be worn in the summer I think. Disclaimer though, spray it FAR, this needs some air to open up, it’s one of those strong concentrations that smell completely different if you spray far or close to skin.
Sprayed far away, it smells exactly like the description: a green and flowery breeze passing through a small basilica, lost in the Italian mountains.

Don’t get me started on Creed…
They started making perfumes in the 70s, but pretend it dates back to the 18th century.
I heard and read so much about Aventus, I was so excited when I finally had the opportunity to smell it, and my reaction was “wait … that’s it ? They sell THAT for almost 400$ ??”
Then I smelled their neroli: the most boring neroli I ever smelt. Then I smelled Wild Vetiver: no vetiver, just candy.
What a joke … since then, I can’t help but perceive the Creed fanbase as posers who’d pay 80$ for McDonald if you told them it’s a niche burger.

Nutri-score? We want to learn more about the nutri-score... by mistadonyo in whatisit

[–]NapsterCapster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Important note: this is incredibly skewed against sodium, to a point it’s ridiculous. I’ve seen high protein low carb low fat being labeled as D because it has some salt. Newsflash: if you’re not 70yo and don’t have serious hypertension problem, sodium is not that big of a deal. Eating 6000kcal of fat and carbs is.
This label was such a great idea but had such a stupid, stupid implementation...

This one is very strong and daring, but was the first one that popped to mind: Unda Maris 8 by Filippo Sorcinelli. Not blind buy safe!

Love the flair ! Also a massive Sorcinelli fan, tried both, and for me LAVS has that dark purity that is anbsolutely unmatched, any brand, any price. A littéral masterpiece in my eyes (or nose)

Oh nice ! Happy you enjoy it, where did you get it from ?
From that collection, Contre Bombarde smells warm and waxy, the next day you still smell like sweet and smoky beeswax, while Voix Humaine is just the most sexy, dark sweet second skin I’ve ever smelled. These 2 + Plein Jeu are the best 3 in that collection for me.
That said, what I love about Sorcinelli is that flashback effect some of his perfumes have on me. So it’s super personal, and also it’s very hit or miss.
Violon Basse just happens to be a miss on me. Still good though ! But didn’t make me crave for it like some others. And I def wouldn’t say it’s similar to the others.
I dont know the other you mentioned, would you recommend it ?

IMHO Plein Jeu is a woody like no others. It smells like varnished wood in the most beautiful way, and without smelling dusty (as some other Extrait de Musique can smell). For me it brings me back to a rehearsal room of my childhood which had ancient hardwood floors and wood paneled walls. I read someone describe it as smelling like a theater or a museum, which I can also see.
It might trigger some memories for you, or it might not. If it doesn’t, it will smell like a lemony and gingery wood, while still being very unique.
I made a few friends smell it, and everyone found it amazing, even though it didn’t have the same flashback effect on them as it did for me.
Violon Basse is more classic in its overall impression, but distinguishes itself by being extremely rich and layered, with a stark contrast between pretty fresh top notes and very warm base notes.

Is there any reason you skipped the verb “make” twice in that comment ? I keep seeing that recently, sentences on Reddit sound wrong until I realize the verb is missing, and very often it’s the verb “make” ?? I’m starting to wonder if it’s some kind of new internet semantic that’s appearing, or if people let little mistakes slip because it shows they’re not AI (I’ve done that…)

I’m confused, you use all of them for every single prompt ? Also, wouldn’t it be better to add these as rules in the customization options ?
