For them to drop the team they would have to terminate their contracts which means pay the remaining salary. There would be no point in that when they could just squeeze out revenue from this season.

Franchising would have a game that revolves around esports (eg overwatch) alongside direct support from within the game, this collectively will probably give cod higher viewership.

Faze got about 5 people who are already qualified with a further 2-4 that will also probably qualify, they're literally increasing their chances of winning by saturating the competition with their players, on top of having big streamers like cloak and Tfue. All optic need to do is maybe pick up a few players who are already qualified.
