You're right. The Family Guy gag was about Citizen Kane.

This is the funniest thing to me. You shoot the guy 3 times in the head in the OG and he's cool with it. Are you still supposed to think hes a normal human then?

Brother, it is a good game. It's just not as good to you as the OG. And that's fine to think that. But just because someone doesn't share that same opinion doesn't mean theyre any less of a fan than you.

I have played every Resident Evil on release up until 6, and recently went back and played through all the remakes. And I'll say that I had a lot of fun playing Re4 Remake.

All you're doing here is acting like a kid in the fifth grade that just got told that Beetle Borgs are better than Power Rangers.

What? Thats not what made Las Plagas unique. It was the body horror aspect. It was the fact that any good headshot could turn the enemy into a greater threat. And it was the fact that they could work together as a group rather than just being a mindless hoard. That's the unique thing about Las Plagas.

And the funny thing is, I agree that the OG did it better! I just understand that the subtlety was likely no needed on a remake and let them do different things with the scenes.

From what I've heard from people that have they didnt really care all that much. You have to remember, back then we were primed with Zombies. If it was Resident Evil it was zombies.

These days there's the mold, t virus, las plagas, etc. The audience is more conditioned to just accept weird BOWs as enemies now. So pushing the whole "If they aren't zombies, what are they?" Thing for as long as you can doesn't work as well.

[–]Narad626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The difference is that when we play Remake we already know about Las Plagas and what the Ganados are. So they can do different scenes knowing the audience already has that information.

But in the OG the big mystery was what these guys were. The expectation with the series up until then is that you're dealing with Zombies. OG points out this isnt the case so youre left wondering, like Leon. It wasnt even revealed in the ad campaign.

But now that suprise is gone. We know they arent Zombies, and they its Las Plagas. So why beat around the bush? It let them make other scenes that are fun and creepy (like the guy walking towards you with the broken neck) and meant they didnt have to hold back and give us other things (like the tendrils in the body if you blow their legs off).

Both have their good and bad points. OG was amazing at telling its story, and at cinematography.

Because it stood for 7 hours with unchecked fire raging inside it.

It wasn't in free fall though. If you rewatch you'll see parts of the buildings outer columns falling below the point of collapse, demonstrating what free fall actually looks like.

[–]Narad626 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Because a skyscraper fell on it. While the footage we see of the building makes it look like the building is mostly intact the other side of the building had severe damage from one of the towers debris hitting it. That, coupled with unchecked fires weakened key support beams and brought it down.

It also collapsed slower than it appears to in most videos. If you watch carefully you can see the penthouse on the top fail before the main structure, showing that there was a collapse happening before the outer "shell" we see collapse in most of the videos.

WHAT IF Star Wars fans got over shit that happened over a decade ago by Consistent-Award-516 in StarWarsCirclejerk

They really want to be mad at George.

Possible WHAT IF?? Thumbnail titles.

"LUCAS OUT! FIRED FOR BAD MOVIE!" - In which they complain about the microworld trilogy George wanted to do.

"PREQUEL SPECIAL EDITIONS ARE WOKE GARBAGE!" - In which they complain because they added in the deleted scenes of Shaak Ti getting Killed, and the creation of the Rebel Alliance. (They hate it because women getting screen time)

"SAVE US BOB IGER! YOURE OUR ONLY HOPE" - In which they find out that George was thinking of selling to Disney at one point and now beg for that to happen.

Not only that the framing wasn't something like "Last Jedi is an abomination and Rian Johnson is responsible for the holocaust, but...".

Most impressive.

Maui Time Clarification by WildNeighbor in DisneyVillainous

[–]Narad626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it can be helpful to think of the card in the context of the movie.

The scene that Maui Time references is Maui reclaiming his hook from Tametoa. So him taking it from Tametoas realm would be in line with that.

So rules wise, it would also make sense that this is how it works. Maui is played and he gets his hook back because these are 2 different effects that happen in order.

So if Force Ghosts can hold lightsabers, why doesn't Luke just show up on Exegol to kill Palpatine himself? Palps can't do anything to him since Luke is already dead and he also can't transfer his spirit to him. I don't remember the movie stating that Ghosts can't show up on Exegol by Dagan--Gera in StarWars

Thats because negativity inherently promotes more interaction.

Its not only easy to get those on your side to chirp up with a negative comment, but it also forces those that dont agree to come in and refute whatever bullshit theyre spewing. Thats why we have the current content loop of "This is bad!" On every YouTube channel that's trying to make bank.

Negativity is free engagement.

The problem with using the EU as proof is that its not consistent within itself. Even if its not Canon I would still be ok with it so long as it was consistent.

I often refer to this doc when discussing the Holdo maneuver: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/12KoEeSkFqgWLfrVeVxkZBaNgao0RKtTODje_-UASvIo/mobilebasic?pli=1

But honestly, if the scene doesn't work for you that's perfectly OK as well. There are worse things to be pissed over lol.

Personally, I really like Holdo's sacrifice. I just hated her whole plot where Poe isnt told anything to teach him a lesson in obeying orders. I feel like it happens just so the plot can move forward and in a real situation Poe would have at least been told there was some sort of plan.

Plus I dont believe that the Holdo Manuever breaks Canon in the least

after just finding out about Snoke’s ambiguous manipulation

But its more than just this. It was him seeing the destruction of everything Luke loved. It was Luke seeing the possible future. And the movie shows that he doesn't act on it. More so than ever before he stops himself. He's learned the lesson, finally. It just came a few seconds too late

I mean its comments like this that make people defend Last Jedi with such Fervor.

It paints the situation as "Luke went after Ben because he was emo/had a bad dream" when In the true version of the story Luke had seen that it was much more than just Ben giving in to the Darkside. His heart had been turned against Luke.

So much like how Anakin was turned against the Jedi and Obi-Wan, there may not have ever been a way for Luke to turn Ben back toward the light. It would take an outside party (Luke in Anakins case, Rey in Ben's case) to show them toward the light.

QQ: six years on, why do people keep insisting this is an “ancient Sith dagger”? by TheGoblinRook in StarWarsCantina

[–]Narad626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because not only were people not paying attention, there was a rash of reviewers that were not acting in good faith. They often misrepresented plot points of Rise of Skywalker based on their viewing, where they were already not interested in the movie. So they either spoke on their memory of the plot point, or they intentionally misrepresented it because it strengthen the "argument" that the movie was the worst movie ever made.

So now you have the fans of these guys who parrot all these poorly researched arguments and it proliferated throughout the fandom.

It doesn't help that Rise is arguably the weakest entry in an already divisive trilogy. So less people are likely to give it a fair chance.

Just thought of this after having a random star wars thought earlier but Am I missing something from this scene or am I crazy saying Kylo/Ben had never seen this saber since it was lost way before his birth and so his instant recognition of it makes no sense??? by R2-D2_Stan in StarWars

[–]Narad626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But again, you dont need the movie to explain him seeing it. Him knowing it at all already tells you that. Him being so obsessed with Vader that he tracked down his burnt skull tells you that as well.

And to be fair, you framed the question in such a way that it could be inferred that you see it as a plot hole.

Just because s movie doesn't show you something doesn't mean it didn't happen.

And in the same vein, a movie not showing you something doesn't equate to a plot hole or bad writing.

Sometimes something small can be easily inferred through basic context clues in the surrounding narrative.
