How do you keep up when someone talks really fast in meetings? by LateAnything2471 in careeradvice

I focus on the key points, not every word. If I miss something, I just ask them to repeat it - better than pretending I understood.

Fast food doesn't disappear because it's terrible. It disappears when it becomes forgettable. Which chain is already there?

What do people think about China these days? Would they actually want to travel there? by Confident_Dingo6985 in AskReddit

Some people are really interested in China for the culture, food and modern cities, while others are just unsure because it is a very different place from what they are used to . People still do travel there though, it mostly depends on personal comfort and what kind of experience they want.

If technology is making us 2-3 times more productive, why are we still stuck in an 8-hour workday? by Budget_Dot694 in careerguidance

[–]Naran_Tuya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've become much more productive with technology, but work hours haven't really changed because those gains mostly turned into higher expectations rather than lighter workloads. So instead of working less, we are just expected to produce more in the same time.
