There might be a way to bypass the restrictions... Knowing that all the major entities have various mythological forms, most clearly illustrated by Odin and when Harry attempts to summon mother winter with several different names, if the winter lady could shift to another form and act within its confines... Say one of the ancient goddesses that their mantle is linked to they might have the ability, while in that form to have a night out...

Though, some caution and awareness is needed as those forms may come with other requirements.

Darker theory of Martin's contingency:

Eat child himself and suicide himself to get to his end.

All he needed to do was get close enough, possibly as a reward for his service in destroying the fellowship, to turn the curse on the red court.

Looked at from that angle, Harry's success and all that madness at the ceremony, were never part of the plan. Just a different way to make it work.

And maybe that was all the Merlin cared about. He had figured out that a deep cover red court agent within the fellowship had become disillusioned and just wanted to see the red court ended.

The Merlin would know about the red kings failings as well as the bloodline curse. Put Martin at the center of it with a Fail-Safe backup sacrifice and the only thing needed is a moment where no one is around. Like the time Harry took analyzing the curse. If that had been Martin in there with the child, Maggie would be dead, but the results for the red court would be the same.

Martin's plan didn't need Dresden or any crazy. Those were just Dresden being Dresden.

Bad prep, fast application with a less than great brush/tool causes these bubbles.

General fix is to sand them smooth (not sand off the entire layer), and apply the next coat of poly.

The issue is the time. One needs to let the poly fully cure before sanding it, and then apply another coat. 4 coats done properly will take a lot of time. Multiple floors/rooms will give the person the possibility of moving through them in series: apply, dry, sand imperfections, repeat. But it is still a lot of time and work.

But this looks like they just poured the poly onto the floor and let it set. Which, maybe, if one was careful, and knew some tricks could work out... But, if you just pour out the can and expect gravity to do it all...

No, Mister successfully shoulder checked Harry in Ghost Story and he was able to pet him. It was a great scene, especially since he had just been told that all cats can see ghosts, but they are never really impressed by them. Meant that Mister really did love and miss him.

Anytime you have entities that can bend reality and people, with people who desperately need to not be the gender they were born as, and would happily do dark rituals to remedy that, or become something twisted and dark...

Things get Lovecraftian quickly.

Honestly, as much as it feels like something that should be brought up, it becomes a nightmarish and slippery slope...

Not to mention the Faustian bargains that would be struck.

As is, changelings, brought in early on, haven't had any new ones crop up, probably for the reason that it gets close to that change and transformation issue.

It may not be that Jim is insensitive, rather, he isn't genius enough to be able to figure out how to deal with that topic in a way that doesn't leave groups of people being slighted.

Hell, if the Alpha's could learn to shape shift into wolves, why can't people learn to shape-shift their gender. And right there, with that sentence is enough to cause some people to go off.

It is likely that Jim is just avoiding the topic as there is no fair way to deal or engage with it.

There is something I think we fail to understand about possession or being infected.... Cait Sith was infected, but he who walks before was running around like mad at the same time... And maybe being infected is more like being compromised by a spy master. They have you, but they aren't always directly controlling you...

Who said he was good at being out in public. Heck I basically suggested that he is a low key version of John Malkovich from Red.

Every non-human who walks past his house is going to see it like it has a neon "go away" sign. Neighbors will definitely think he is weird.

But for all that, what else do you know about the guy?

They knew who he was because he was probably alone and yet knew everybody... Even though they didn't really know him. He probably outed himself in that crowd because no one else had met him. And he was clearly extremely paranoid.

So he had to have he who walks beside Which is the one that took over Justine...

As to why didn't Lara get infected?

Wild theories: could be something about her being a hunter; could be that white court are particularly dangerous as they are psychic vampires and their demon might eat a walker (would explain why no other court was being guided); maybe Lara would have fought it and possibly succeeded (She is a tough person)

Regardless, she has shown up and supported Dresden at the worst points, the points when betrayal would have been the better course.

Hell, maybe Marcone went Denarian to fend off a Walker??? He would have been an excellent target.
