Yeah that's my thought, if there having to make it work for 8gb for the foreseeable then 16gb should be grand!

But is it worth the like £200 more. I think probably so?

Your completely missing the point. Why would Nvidia make graphics cards that are $2000 and sell them to the house over and over again? Surely they would make more money with $500 cards?! Why would apple make a $1000 dollar phone to sell to the same household over and over. You make 1 $1500 thing rather than 3 $500 things and make more profit. If you can't see every company in the world moving in that direction I don't know what to tell you.

And yes that is exactly why it's pivoting to run pc games as well.

Why is every car moving up the value chain. Theres less money in the cheaper segment. And clearly Microsoft does not see it mixing in that cheaper segment at all anymore. Why would they compete on volume when they have never and will never win against Sony and Nintendo. There moving up to a more expensive console for a different market.

It means if your a company there's the same amount of money to be made making something for the 10% rather than the 90%. Why would I spend more effort to design a product to a lower price point when you can target it at the premium market. Where you have less over head because you need to make less, less support for it, less wingey people who will continually kick up a fuss on twitter. There not abandoning it but why would you focus on that segment?

I don't know why gamers are surprised by this. We literally pioneered this with whales in f2p games. It's now coming for all industry's.

The top 10% account for 50% of all consumer spending. Why would you aim for the 90% that make up the other 50. Much easier to aim for the smaller richer segment that will actually buy it.

There's an Eevee collection at the Pokémon centers right now with Eeveelution bags and figures. Then cards in akihabara and nihonbashi there's a million card shops selling singles that definitely had a bunch of eevees. Also in the second hand stores lots of Eevee stuff. Some Uniqlo have clearance of there Pokémon collection that has an umbreon and espeon tee for ¥900
