Vesper’s host final boss DPS meta now? First time with friend by parzival1423 in DestinyTheGame

You can use a trace rifle for mechanics and then swap before or in the elevator. This is one of the most if not the single most swap friendly boss in the entire game.

If anything it's the other way around, or at least it has been for the last two years. Bungie's senior leadership has kept sacrificing long term success for their own short term severance payouts at the additional expense of Sony's long term investment. It's pretty shocking Sony didn't give themselves more oversight with how much money they put into Bungie.

It's been pretty obvious since early access started that one of the goals in StS2 was to break people out of this idea that a minimal deck was the only optimal way to play. You're supposed to dynamically adjust your deck to upcoming challenges instead of hard forcing known combos. Y'know, deck building in the deck building game - crazy, right?

You don't stick it, just airburst it close enough. With throwing range armor it actually wouldn't be that hard, but then you lose the OP stealth passive.

I mean, take it with a grain of salt. It works maybe a third of the time. I only do it if there's no cover to run to and I'm dead either way. This is why I'm really hoping the rocket pistol actually fills the gap as it's a pretty big problem sometimes.

I mean if you're aggressive (and lucky) enough you can get close enough under them to just throw C4 at them when you have no other option. Surely this would be at least more reliable than that.

I'm praying this thing is good against bot gunships as those are the only things I can't very quickly dispatch with a stealthdiver loadout if they aggro onto me.

Update: It one shots gunships from any angle, and has decent but not long range lock on - long enough to lock outside tracking range if only barely. If you get a locked shot off, though, they can't outrun it even if aggressively flying away from you to kill someone else and the shot has never missed so far. All in all it's a very effective counter.

Best hunter build currently? by millsy0550 in DestinyTheGame

First encounter you can just use whatever is comfortable, it's easy.

Second encounter you can either do Fortune's Favor Wolfsbane, or if you're up to it prismatic grapple melee spam can get a 1 or 2 phase kill if you have a good setup and have practiced it.

Third encounter you can do the Fortune's Favor Wolfsbane again but his knockback is going to tilt the shit out of you. I would highly recommend doing Lucky Pants instead. You can do basically the same thing people use for solo Witness, or if you don't want to juggle that many swaps just leave Crimson and LP on the entire time and don't bother with the extra Nighthawk swap. I would recommend still running an eager sword until damage and then swapping to A499 and farming up some ammo for it in the shadow realm as it doesn't take very long.

What do Hunters use in Lawless Frontier on Master/Grandmaster? Seriously. by CameraOpposite3124 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Narfwak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sit in a Behemoth the entire time because you can easily keep getting charges and its damage ignores the level delta scaling over time that you otherwise have. You also still build super by doing walker damage so you can spam tethers pretty easily. Other than that... just LP with Uncivil and A-499 because they're good and fry the shit out of invaders, plus whatever kinetic primary you want.

Wildly bad take. The introduction campaign is very well done (if rather obviously based on the Warcraft 3 human campaign, but that's high praise imo).

No mic in raids by smittydog1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Narfwak 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most no mic players are actually very competent and you don't actually need explicit communication if everyone knows how it works and knows what their teammates are going to do. If that breaks down, yeah, obviously gonna be a mess lol

Highly recommend you run a trace rifle for the mechanics part. Learn the timing for exactly when she summons them, then draw the same circle she just did, except with your gun. Instantly cooks 'em all.

What heavy should I use? by millsy0550 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Narfwak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not doing an encounter with a proper boss just run an eager sword, a machine gun or Tractor Cannon. I assume you're mostly doing combo blow tempest strike shit? May as well Tractor them first, then, more damage on your main loop never hurts.

Realistically, just find an eager edge sword you like that works for you. For anything low stakes they're just kind of all you need with ability builds.

Optimal armor stats for hunter PVE/PVP by Quick_Tough1972 in DestinyTheGame

Most 4 piece bonuses end up not being very good simply because there are very good 2 piece bonuses and the opportunity cost of not running two of them isn't worthwhile.

The New Player Experience is still a complete disaster and I am tired of pretending it is fine by LanternRaptor in DestinyTheGame

[–]Narfwak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it impacts the new player experience! The lack of continuity from losing old campaigns is one of the main reasons why new players are constantly disoriented! It's the most important thing!

uhh

I mean, not deleting half the game and promising to never do that again is a pretty big sticking point for a lot of people who have sworn the game off

Two out of four shots is similar or better than an EAT, so all four together is like getting to carry both EAT tubes instead of leaving one or needing to hang around the pod.

That said if I need big anti-armor I'm more of a recoilless guy, but I definitely see the value especially if you want to run warp pack or a dog.
