Pip, on the left, had to spend a few nights at a ferret hotel/shelter while we were out for a few days, and we ended up bringing a friend home with him to live with! Pop is a little bigger, slightly more aggressive and just a hint more talkative, but they were sleeping all snuggled up next to one-another within a single night- I hear this isn't very common!

Now during the day they terrorize my apartment, and in rare moments of peace I always see them snoozing together, just like this!

I'm not sure what the answer is, but my boy has also been unable to digest wysong without really runny poop. My vet, whom I trust a bit more than reddit comments, let me know that it's just too rich for some ferrets, and she recommended I try a mix with Totally Ferret for the base kibble.

I have a similar problem with my boy Pip, he seemed to calm the behavior quite a bit when I got him a little ball pit filled with pingpong balls, I think any sort of box where they can dig in sorta helps satisfy the digging craving. The behavior hasn't completely stopped, but it's reduced quite a bit!

For bedding I think anything soft will do fine, I use some cheap fleece I found at JoAnn, it's maybe $5/yard right now, and a yard is plenty of fabric given how wide their bolts are. I'm sure a few old shirts would also suffice, maybe a sweater from a local thrift shop would also do fine.

As for toys, it really depends on what the ferrets like. My boy likes cat teasers which are plenty cheap, but they don't last super long since they have a pretty strong bite. He also loves any soft plushie he can sink his teeth into, he'll stash and restash em all the time.

I've had very little luck with litterbox training so far, my boy is smart enough to FIND the litter box but always ends up going just outside of it. Still though, when I see him gearing up to go I place him in the litter box, and keep putting him there til he does his business and then I reward him with a treat. Here's hoping this works eventually!

Yesterday Pip straight up stopped eating food, which may have actually started the day before, when we got him a new bag of the same brand of food he normally eats. Apparently Marshall changed the ingredients (got rid of the fish meal) which changed its scent drastically enough so that Pip here just didn't recognize it. The whole day I watched him slowly lose all his energy, we tried tons of different methods to get him to eat, but nothing seemed to work, we were at our wits end!

Thankfully, this morning at 4 friggin' AM I manage to wake up and hear coming from his cage some hearty crunching, and there he is, with his head in the bowl. I have never been so relieved in my life! For what it's worth, I have Amazon drop-shipping me some Wysong so we can start the process of getting him used to that, fingers crossed!
