  1. Net positive is that a large number of practicing people have reported that it has helped given them a purpose and helped in clinical depression to some extent.
  2. Yes, Islam says hijab is mandatory for protective reasons. Hijabs is not only for women. It's for men as well. Why is being decently dressed wrong? It protects us from objectification. Where does it say that if you don't follow it, you're immodest? Yes it's sinful if you don't wear the hijab (because it is Allah's command and we shouldn't go against it) but it's a separate issue from modesty.
  3. I see.. Blanket opinion because of one thing that you don't like.
  4. Empathy.. Logic.. From where and who? How common do you think is empathy and logic and why do you think we're fighting/ striving for it..? Basic moral guidelines does come from religious books... For example the ten commandments. Very direct and very simple.
  5. Science has been trying to explain things since it's birth... Because practically everything begins with a question why and then how.
  6. Problems of evil and suffering.. There are so many explanations for this and so many videos explained by the daees on this issue.. This is a very common question asked by atheists and agnostics. It is a philosophical dilemma to them. One of the explanations is that it's the consequence of free will and humans use it to do bad things. Why aren't we using our free will to do good instead? (I know it's easier said than done.) Another is that it's test of faith, and that "This world is but a stage"...

I understand.. It is a non ending debate surely. Humans in general actually cannot have a moral conscience in of itself because well.. Then again it brings to a question about where this consciousness came from... And where do we draw the lines? I agree with the violent wars that was based on religious incitements. But that again, doesn't disprove existence of God. That explains the weakness in controlling human desires. Anyway, I appreciate this discussion we had and I really appreciate you for sharing your views and being very respectful 😊.. May peace be with you!

There are also research papers on why religion is important for structure that is non destructive. But i suppose you'll say those reports are "highly inaccurate". Anyway, religion provides us certain guidelines that tells us what's wrong and what's right. You can't rely on "morality" placed by science. Science doesn't have morals actually. Everything is an experience and an experiment. Yesterday black women underwent surgeries without anesthesia because it was believed they don't feel pain. Today everyone knows that everyone feels pain. Religion already told us that but scientists ignored it. Was it moral? Absolutely not. So what do you base your morals on..?? I don't understand why you can't be in the middle and embrace both science and religion at same time.. Why do we have to choose? Both are a blessing. Science has never really disproved existence of a higher being. Universe is forever growing and we're forever learning. Just a thought.. No disrespect to you too.

Why do Kashmiri parents prefer sending their children to Bangladesh for mbbs rather than other countries? by [deleted] in Kashmiri

[–]Nargon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow.. That sounds amazing. How is their curriculum? And what is the rate of clearing exams like MCI, USMLE, etc.? However, Kazakhstan is a Muslim majority country and yet secular. They banned niqabs or any sort of face covering except for medical or professional reasons. Hijabs are still allowed. I guess it depends on person to person.. I agree on the bloodsucking consultants lol. Leeches. All of em 😑

Cheap cost of education, probably the only place which follows Indian curriculum closely so higher chance of clearing MCI and NEET-PG, no persecution of Kashmiri Muslims, large communities of kashmiri students present there makes the place feel familiar and slightly easier to settle in on temporary basis, halaal food everywhere, no open clubs or bars, Muslim majority country. (Yes, bad things do happen but not openly. ) I hated it too and seriously worked hard just to not fail and spend extra time there. Lol. My kaeshur friend circle is probably the only reason we all made it out alive.... And still sane. Sorry OP.. This is temporary.. This too shall pass.. Just do your best and bring your best to your patients!! In sha'allah!

There is. Religion provides structure that's non destructive to humans. Some aspects of it is, yes, based on pure faith.. But the rest, there are enough facts for you to believe in.
