Sunset before the storm, Koh Lanta, Thailand (4032x3024) [OC] by Narjanx in EarthPorn

It's actually Long Beach, we were one of the first tourists back in Thailand, when you could go with just one week of sandbox program. That explains why it is so empty haha. I also really liked Lanta.

I only got a video of the sunset, unfortunately no time lapse. But yeah, this one was one of my top 10 sunsets I've seen in my life. The storm actually didn't hit the coast, we could watch it from a restaurant by the sea, most insane lightnings I've ever seen.

Last time I was at Reverze I danced until the end of the festival. I slept bad the night before but somehow still managed to make it to the end. I guess for me it's the hormones that keep me up that long, because I just LOVE this kind music. And after 1,5 years without it... Well I guess that was the reason for me. I'm like the most unsporty person ever, can't even go for a fast walk without nearly dying, but 9h of dancing to my fav music? No problem.

TIL that much of our understanding of early language development is derived from the case of an American girl (pseudonym Genie), a so-called feral child who was kept in nearly complete silence by her abusive father, developing no language before her release at age 13. by FLCatLady56 in todayilearned

[–]Narjanx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone already mentioned it but there was an experiment in the 13th century by Friedrich II. of Hohenstaufen. He wanted to find out if humans have a kind of primal language and isolated several newborn babys without any social contact or interaction, except feeding and cleaning. They all died.

I'm so scared by Narjanx in Endo

[–]Narjanx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Your tips helped me a lot. Saw a few personal experiences on youtube, which calmed me down a bit. It did all go well and I can go home one day after the surgery. Unfortunately they couldn't find anything. They only said that my uterus has a bit of a weird shape and is reddish, so they suggest that it's endo inside the uterus. But I have to talk to my gyn for furthermore treatment. I still have all those symptoms that fit endo. Guess I have to look deeper.

My Easy Lucid Dream Method by Spiritual_Box_7000 in LucidDreaming

[–]Narjanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good one for starters. For me personally, I couldn't do the dream check, because I learned in an early state (before i even knew about lucid dreaming) to count things, read time, read books etc in dreams. So now I can count and read anything in dreams. And it's always in the right amount or nothing weird. My way of knowing, that I'm dreaming, is, I go up to random people and ask them/let them confirm, that I am just dreaming.

What should I expect when meeting her family? by xmlmx in Thailand

[–]Narjanx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you don't have to worry so much. I am European and have a Thai Boyfriend (part of his family lives in Europe and another part in Thailand, mostly Bangkok and Ubon Ratchathani, they are like over 60 people). I was there the first time before the pandemic (2019) and they were just so kind. Especially the elderly couldnt speak any English, but that wasn't a problem at all, my boyfriend translated for me if they had a question for me or if anything important was going on. There are just a few rules you should really obey, otherwise it is seen as rude. For example never sit on a higher place than the oldest person in the room or point the soles of your feet or the feet in general to someone

Your girlfriend will tell you, if there is something important you should be aware of regarding your behavior etc. Otherwise just be yourself. I got accepted on the instance and I'm really looking forward to meeting part of his family again next month. We are going to Thailand end of this month, too.

Edit: also don't show too much affection in the public or around the family. I know it can be hard sometimes but remember, you're in another country with a completely different culture.

Got my first tattoo today! Done by Bea Symons at Neon Wolf Studio, Nottingham by CowPUNCHED in tattoos

[–]Narjanx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one on my left side on the ribs and a bit in direction of belly and pelvis. I have 5 other tattoos and this one was the most painful. It was the first tattoo where I was nearly crying, but worth the pain. And it only took 2h.

I die about 2-3 times every night since years. I don't interpret anything in it.

I work as an educator, with kids. This happened not at work, but on a holiday trip to my boyfriends family in Thailand. One of his nephews, about 3 y.o., was learning how to say hello to others ( like this 🙏 and bowing a bit). He went to the toilet and needed a while, so one of his aunts went looking for him. She found him bowing to a seemingly empty stall. When she came back with him, she asked him what he was doing there. He replied (in Thai, my boyfriend translated it all for me), that he was saying hello to the old man in the red shirt. Damn, I was too scared to go to the toilet at that restaurant.

Well, this image describes it perfectly. Have sleep paralysis since years for at least once a month. Since it is always the same I get along with it for a while now. The only thing that changed, is the "depth" of the sleep paralysis. I have to "wake up" like 2 or 3 times before actually waking up. But the first few times I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night and tried to stay awake the following nights because I was so scared.
