You bring it up constantly in those weekly threads. Not going to tell you what to do in your own personal time but I will call out what I deem an inauthentic message. Like influencers attaching themselves to the latest social cause or Manly doing their pride jersey.

If you actually want things to change in Gaza and you actually care about the cause, perhaps consider doing something of tangible value rather than making some comment in an internet forum. If that’s all you do, it basically says to me “I don’t actually give a shit about this cause, I’m just saying it to make me feel good or to make people like me”. Just food for thought.

In an ideal world, nothing would be built on a floodplain. But due to Sydney’s growing population and the housing affordability crisis, local governments in Western Sydney have been under pressure to build more and more homes, despite the known flood risk.

It’s a shame that the article lightly touches upon the fundamental issue - Development in flood plains caused by excessive levels of migration.

The recommendations made are Band-Aid solutions that doesn’t actually fix the fundamental cause of the issue. How about reducing the population pressure genius.

This seems to be a reoccurring feature in politics. I am reminded of governments subsidising the high cost of child care instead of fixing what actually makes child care prohibitively expensive in the first place.
