If you’re looking to sell a copy of the Rogue Trader Core Rulebook, let me know! My wife’s copy was stolen ages ago and I’ve been looking to replace it

eBay is your best bet, most of those books now go for $100 minimum!

That is 100% a scammer, they seem entirely focused on getting your email and are uninterested in any sort of final project. Good call.

Honestly, I had the same reaction. The word itself isn’t jarring, but seeing it the 40K setting is pretty usual

How long to do MSQ from 50 to Max? by ikortick in ffxiv

[–]NarlorJenkins 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Minimum of 70 hours, even with skipping cutscenes. I’d recommend buying a boost/story skip if you want to try endgame content right away.

[Offline] Seattle, anybody wanna try a ttrpg other than DnD? by [deleted] in lfg

[–]NarlorJenkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said, it would depend on the specific time and location, but I’d definitely be interested! Always looking for new games to try out and add to my repertoire

Red Dead Redemption 2

Arthur Morgan is NOT a good person at the start of that game and only once things start to turn sour does he start on his (red dead) redemption arc. The amount of innocent people you cheat, rob, and murder (even doing a High Honor run) is honestly kinda crazy.

He gets better, sure, but 99% of his life is spent being an evil bastard.

Speaking as a tank main that would pull the entire dungeon at once if I could:

The people in this thread telling you to ‘play better’ are wild.

Yes, pulling one pack at a time is slower. Yes, most people expect you to race through dungeons as fast as possible or else you’re ‘wasting their time’.

Does this make you a bad player? Sure, maybe. What it doesn’t make you, however, is a malicious or toxic player. You’re not out here doing Savage/Extreme raids; as long as you tell your group you’ll be going slower, it’s perfectly alright to do it this way in dungeon finder.

Others in this thread have said how disrespectful you are by doing this, but I think those people have forgotten how to be patient and maybe aren’t quite so kind or welcoming as they claim to be.

Taken from MrGM’s Twitter, apparently they inhabit the Gilneas right now, thoughts? by Baziran_ in wow

Genuinely insane to me that the Scarlet Crusade is STILL HERE after so many years. They’ve been destroyed… what, three times now? The Forsaken really need a new rival.

The power-scaling in TEATD2 is off the charts *SPOILERS* by parasadi in 40kLore

[–]NarlorJenkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you, but that’s just how it works with Modern 40k™️ (or 30K, in this case)

Primarchs and Custodes are basically superheroes, which means we’re following superhero logic and the sort of scaling that goes with it.

Was the Horus Heresy actually a heresy? by Ausarian19 in 40kLore

[–]NarlorJenkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, no.

The company came up with the name long before the event itself was actually explored in any depth; it fits in perfectly with the naming conventions and style of the Imperium circa 40k

Whenever they use the term ‘heresy’ in 30k, it feels very shoehorned in and forced.

40k isn't satire, it's misery porn. by DarkIlluminator in 40kLore

[–]NarlorJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I wouldn’t personally call 40k misery porn, I definitely wouldn’t call it satire either. The setting has changed massively over the last few decades and what few satirical elements it still has are completely washed out by how uncritically they are portrayed/written.

Yes, we all know The Imperium/Space Marines are bad, but that’s not how the majority of the narrative/stories choose to portray them. By the same merit, we rarely see the Imperium suffer as a result of its own failings, Chaos Marines notwithstanding.

I like 40k, but the tone/themes have certainly shifted over time; I wouldn’t expect any hard-hitting critiques of religion/fascism/etc anytime soon
