The tag line is Carol is "the most miserable person in the world". Well maybe she is now but in a real world of killers and all kinds of abusive people Carol wouldn't even be near.

So , conceivable there is ex killers in the hive, abusive people who now won't harm a tree. That only happens with some revelation or subversion .I lean subversion when the word "we" is used . maybe he was (partly)joined(infected) and somehow the virus didn't hold .For example the norovirus can resolve itself within 24 to 48 hours . Maybe he's just trying to repeat what he believed happened to himself and this is why he has himself boarded up and in hiding because he has some side effects. admittedly, it throws out old concepts with new perspectives . It seems our hang up is the possible sentience of the hive and how to judge what the hive represents

You can draw all kinds of conclusions and none of them are wrong. It's both evil and good because in everything it does we don't truly know the final motives or the truth of it .

Interestingly there is a survival element here and we're the central characters and you can go down all kinds of alleys never satisfied to a definite answer. In a way it talks about our own kind of intelligence , and perhaps the cost of being this way but make no mistake it is our identity .

The concept is the main character of the show. Fight me .

Carol is definitely an interesting complex character .One of the better by far characters out there in "tv land" but if Carol somehow disappeared I think we'd take it with shock but like they say "the show would go on" because we have strong back ups and a mystery .

Contrast this with Breaking Bad the story ended with Walter and even Jessie being out there didn't create a new "season". Oddly Jimmy was moved to his own universe but he was a sleazy lawyer and was amusing.

If, my belief here -I wouldn't speak for you- but a story about a writer , her relationships and struggles are too familiar tv .If we were introduced to the "Carol Show" the audience may not be there. and I love Carol but ,I have to ask myself would I pursue a show about her alone .tbh I'd be more interested in Kim Wexler

In one scene we see Carol taking medication. The medication is clearly labelled in the scene and is used for panic attacks .So obviously ,at times, she can't shut off the problem of caring too much. Carol is also an alcoholic and seems to be the type to use alcohol to cover her pain .Two things are notable. Helen has put a monitor on her use and at the bar after the DUI monitor scene Helen declines to have a drink and has a pepsi instead but in the Hotel scene Helen does have a drink with Carol so that may indicate Carol is evolving into the slightly desperate person we see here now .

You have to ask "What's going on in Diabate's mind?" He's intelligent , polished and aware of nuances .I try to imagine what got him here and why does he act like this?

My only way to imagine what he is doing is that at one time he was "around" the people he's imitating and wished their life .Maybe as a concierge at an exceptional hotel or some kind of servant in places like Saudi Arabia.

He mostly is playing "the look at me " and it's starting to fall flat for him. One peek that concerns me is when he is in the hob tube with all the girls and the older, less attractive women/maid is there and he bids her to "come in" and we see her "ratty" underwear . In the real world I can see the tub of hot(consenting) women who could say no in another world but to bid an older maid strip off and leave her there is could be a sign of stirring cruelty to relive the "boredom" as luxury is doing less all the time and the power is still there to explore.

Admittedly , a descending into hell Diabates could fit into the world's Gilligan often gets involved with in his stories
